More of the usual and expected violent intimidation tactics of the political left.

Several hundred people stormed the small yard of President Bush's chief political strategist, Karl Rove, yesterday afternoon, pounding on his windows, shoving signs at others and challenging Rove to talk to them about a bill that deals with educational opportunities for immigrants.

Protesters poured out of one school bus after another, piercing an otherwise quiet, peaceful Sunday in Rove's Palisades neighborhood in Northwest, chanting, "Karl, Karl, come on out! See what the DREAM Act is all about!"

Rove obliged their first request and opened his door long enough to say, "Get off my property."

"Seems like he doesn't want to invite us in for tea," Emira Palacios quipped to the crowd. Violent intimidation is so amusing, "maybe we'll get a chance to beat Rove senseless in front of his minor children who are inside the house we're attacking," she laughed

Others chanted, "Karl Rove ain't got no soul."

The crowd then grew more aggressive, fanning around the three accessible sides of Rove's house, tracking him through the many windows, waving signs that read "Say Yes to DREAM" and pounding on the glass. At one point, Rove rushed to a window, pointed a finger and yelled something inaudible.

Shortly thereafter, sirens shot through the neighborhood and Secret Service agents and D.C. police joined the crowd on the lawn. Rove opened his door long enough to talk to an officer, and the crowd serenaded them with a stanza of "America the Beautiful."Rove needs to move to Virginia and get himself a Mossberg 590A1 with bayonette

The protest was organized by National People's Action, a coalition of neighborhood advocacy groups based in Chicago. Translation: Hard-left/communist political intimidation group affiliated with the Democratic Party

Leaders said they want Bush to advocate for the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act, a bill that would permit immigrants who have lived in the United States for at least five years to apply for legal resident status once they graduate from high school. The measure would eliminate provisions of current federal law that discourage states from providing in-state tuition to undocumented student immigrants. How about a one-way plane ticket back to Mexico instead

Immigrant activists say that 50,000 to 65,000 undocumented students graduate from U.S. high school each year and that many students can afford college only at the reduced, in-state rates. Fork over the cash you selfish Americans, how dare you object to providing a subsidized college education to 65,000 illegal Mexican immigrants, tough schit if you can barely afford it for you own kids

The bill passed the Senate Judiciary Committee in the fall but has not been brought before the full Senate for a vote.

Asked for Bush's position on the bill, spokesman Jim Morrell said, "The president has laid out the principles he believes should guide immigration discussion, and he is willing to work with Congress." Morrell added: "Jeeze, how often does the President have to kiss Vincinte Fox's azz before these people get off our backs!"

When pressed to state Bush's specific position on the DREAM legislation, Morrell repeated his statement.

The coalition's leaders, who converge on Washington each year to advocate for various issues, said they targeted Rove because they could not get as close to the White House as they could to his house. Rove also is one of Bush's main advisers, and he did not reply to their requests for a meeting, leaders said.

"We want the DREAM Act, and Karl Rove is sitting on it," said Brenda LaBlanc, a member of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement.

Coalition leaders said the demonstrators were to protest other policies at the houses of two Cabinet secretaries, Elaine L. Chao of Labor and Ann M. Veneman of Agriculture.

But what the group really wanted was a conversation with Rove, who declined to comment to a reporter through a Secret Service agent.
What this group really wanted was to indimidate and harass somebody in their home

And after about 30 minutes of goading by protesters in English and Spanish, Rove agreed to meet with two members of the coalition on the condition that the rest of the protesters board their buses and leave his street. The group obliged.

Rove opened his garage door and allowed Palacios and Inez Killingsworth to enter. The meeting lasted two minutes and ended with Rove closing the garage door on Palacios while she was still talking.

Palacios said that Rove was "very upset" and was "yelling in our faces" and that Rove told them "he hoped we were proud to make his 14-year-old and 10-year-old cry."

A White House spokesman said one of the children was a neighbor.

Palacios, trembling and in tears herself, said, "He is very offended because we dared to come here. We dared to come here because he dared to ignore us. I'm sorry we disturbed his children, but our children are disturbed every day. Translation:"We are righteous and pure, our goals justify our tactics, even if it means attacking someone in their home and threatening their young children" Yep, Rove definately should've had a Mossberg to greet these thugs with.

"He also said, 'Don't ever dare to come back,' " Palacios said. "We will, if he continues to ignore us." Hopefully he'll have a Mossberg at hand if you do ever attack his home again

I think we will see much more of this type of thing in the future. There are too many people taking money that they have not earned with one hand and demanding more with the other.

Come on, it's only a crime if he's a homo/dem/libl/greenie; hetro/repubs/conservs/Christians are fair game for anyone. Too bad he didn't just call the cops and tell them he had a gun and was in fear for his life and that of his family... and terminate the phone call with a shot .

:cuss: :fire: :cuss:

I agree that this is going to become a more frequent occurence.

Good thing that the left is the "compassionate" side:rolleyes:

A mob of people surrounding one's home, yelling and pounding on the windows.

Yep, I'd be in fear of my life. Yep, a 12 gauge would be pointed at said window pounders.

How the hell were there no arrests? Sounds like several dozen counts of trespassing, disorderly conduct. Plus something along the lines of conspiracy to indimidate a public official.

Of course, then they'd whine about the 'gestapo' tactics of the DC police.

Now, to find the Wash. TIMES coverage...

Interestingly enough, when I first saw the title for this thread, I thought that it might be associated with CONSERVATIVE activists upset with Rove's work for the President. :D

Imagine my surprise to see that it was the OTHER end of the political spectrum that was demonstrating. Considering their tactics, I'm glad that it WAS the other side.

FWIW,

And generate headlines about how the Bush administration was having protesters arrested? I think not.

Karl should get some big mean dogs.

And let them loose in his front yard.

One would like to think that this might be a long overdue wake-up call for Mr. Rove. Let him see firsthand where this increasingly fragmented and uncivil nation is heading: mob violence, ethnic strife. Since he is the architect of "let's get the Hispanic vote" strategy, I'd call this poetic justice.

An excess of "compassion" engenders its opposite. Longeye's Third Law of Cultural Thermodynamics.

:D Except we do not employ those tactics.

OK, this is kind of odd. I checked the Washington Times website, and I couldn't find any mention of this.

This was in the Post.

CoolHandLuke,

Please do not sugar-coat your commentary

The left uses mob actions and fear through intimidation. Whoda thunk it. After all, it is not like Rove is a citizen and has any rights. The "good" far outweighs the threats against a family in their home.

Except we do not employ those tactics.

The left has been convinced that conservatives rely on mob violence, ever since some poll watchers down in Florida "intimidated" the Miami Beach elections officials into giving up on the recount, by viciously insisting on watching what they were doing.

Several hundred people stormed the small yard of...

Sounds like reason to end the AWB and the silly magazine size restrictions to me.

/me smiles when he thinks of the 9 loaded 30rd AR magazines in my closet ... next to my AR

This story is kind of surprising. I would think Rove would rate as needing some sort of permanent Secrect Service protection in or near his home. Somebody like him would be prime terrorist target for assassination or abduction.

I bet he has that protection now.

Rove doesn't need the Secret Service, he needs the Border Patrol...or whatever they're calling it these days. Maybe a few green SUVs parked on the lawn would send the right message?

This is what happens when you let stuff go unchecked and arrive at critical mass...

Why do I see Charleton Heston in "Omega Man" in my mind's eye?

What these knuckleheads obviously don't understand is Rove is the biggest illegal alien, butt-kissing politico out there today. And these "demonstrators" try to rough him up?

I agree. We will see more of these thuggish actions in the future. And will continue until we begin real efforts to push back.

We've been appeasing the likes of V. Fox and others of his ilk and appeasement has only one predictible consequence. You get more of the same.

Hey, Dubya! You fool! You are ultimately responsible.
