I am soon going to be taking a ccw course and apply for my ccw. I am aware that Colorado is a shall is the state however hear in Denver (city and county)I have heard that their is no ccw permit. Is this city truly not complient with state law and what does this mean to my acquisition of sed permit. Please no links to packing.org this sight is wonderful but usually not up.

Denver is "shall issue", just like the rest of the state. But they may drag their feet or make it inconvenient to apply. That's what I've heard, anyway.

This is the info you need for Denver CCW.

Useful info here from a good organization. If you can afford the $250 for the class and permit fees, you should probably spend $25 more on RMGO membership. They don't have a long list of benefits, but they do stand up for your 2A rights better than most.

I'm not sure, but I think that "open carry" is prohibited in Denver, as are some "evil black rifles".

The notion that Denver can prohibit EBRs is known as "home rule". Their prohibition on CCW was shot down.

CCW is OK, open carry and assault weapons are out.

Here is the relevant assault weapon statute.

CCW in Denver International Airport non-secure areas is OK.

I know multiple guys that have applied for and recieved CCW permits in Denver County. None have reported any delays or hassles and their description of how they were handled was identical to friends that live in the surrounding counties.

I also know quite a few Denver folks with a CCW permit and I have not heard of any hassles in getting it.
Slightly off-topic
Is the RMGO group still active? I've been checking out their site and it appears to have not been updated in over a year. I also emailed them regarding a store with a no carry sign and have not gotten a response.
Looks like a good group but I don't want to join if they've become idle.
