How long did it take to process your CCW application?

30 days. Which, coincidentally, is the amount of time the sheriff was legally allowed to take to do them. They started the processing on day 28.

Same as Harry B - less than a week. I sent my renewal in and it was only 4-5 business days when I had my brand new shiny permit!

Took me more time to drive my Application into the office then it did to get it approved, and issued . Pike County, PA .. it's about as easy as it gets here

Ingham County Mi

~30 days.

Of course they forgot to inform me that it was ready, via mail, telephone, or email (all of which they had). I also called about every month to check in on it and they said "just keep waiting."

Turns out it no one actually wanted to check the file cabinet where they keep them for pick up and felt it was easier to blow me off. Total wait time was over 3 months due to bureaucracy :banghead:

I got my CCW in Arapahoe county also. Although they were very friendly it took them the max amount of time. I was right at the 90 day mark. My wife and I had been divorced and had gotten back together. I was not on the loan on the house we were living in. This was their reason. He had me bring down the registration to my truck with my address on it. He said he needed proof of residence. I received my CCW on the spot. Why would you need proof of residence from someone who has never been in trouble in their life? I'm not sure! However, they were very nice and seemed to be happy to pass out CCW's to people that could pass out the background check.

It's supposed to take 10 days here in NH, but I put in for mine right before we had a major ice storm that caused massive damage, so it ended up taking about a month.

Maybe 20 minutes. Fill out the application, interview by the sheriff, pay money, walk out the door with it in hand. No photo,no fingerprints,no referrences,no background check(unless asking who my dad was counts) and no stinking BADGE(rofl).

can't remember for sure, but i'm sure it was 3 or 4 minutes...?

wrote my name and address down on the 'ccw paper', sheriff signed it, and out the door i went... i don't know why some states make it such an ordeal, really...

just under three weeks. I don't live very close to Salt Lake City so I had to mail it in to BCI. The post office d@#n near screwed up the renewal... (but that is another story)

In NC, I applied for a new Concealed-Carry permit at the county Sheriffs department in mid-October 08, having had NICS, digital fingerprinting, and having turned-in my proof of having passed the required class on gun-safety.

They said it could take up to 90 days. It Took about 30 days for them to call me and to say "come and get it"... The folks at the Sheriffs department were very kind and supportive. ...They seemed happy to have another "good-guy" on their side. Cost me 80 bucks.
