I was doing a little cleaning and organizing down in the grouch cave and on the bottom shelf sort of hidden by some other stuff was a small metal ammo box almost new looking . I sort of remember getting it and loosing track of it and replacing it . I pulled it off the shelf , and something was inside . Well I wasted no time getting the lid off and found 7 boxes of .223 Rem. Needless to say I was quite pleased as I always feel like I ought to have more ammo put away for a rainy day. I can't be the only one , who else has found something good they forgot about?

Many years ago, I got home from a plinking session and having worked the night shift prior, piled everything on the kitchen table and went to bed (lived alone at the time).
Next morning, started laying stuff out for cleaning and couldn't find my MK2 Ruger. Called the range and they said no one had turned it in, so I figured someone went home with a free gun. Argh, oh well.

Fast forward two years, my girlfriend had just moved in and was putting away the laundry, when lo and behold she found my Ruger in the back of my sock drawer. I was not then (or now) in the habit of storing guns in the sock drawer and have no memory of putting it there.
Only thing I can figure, I was so tired that my sleep-deprived monkey brain thought it would be a good place to put away the gun and promptly forgot about it.
That, plus I was really bad about not rotating my clean socks....;)

We moved last year after being there for 32 years. I found a lot of stuff that I had forgotten about. 1000 new 44 mag cases, 1000 .429 jhp's, 100 new 22 hornet cases. I had lost track of the quantity of powder, primers and bullets that I had but ended up with more than I thought.

My wife has a large China cabinet that didn't have a good place to go when we finished building this house and moved in. She separated it and put the bottom in our dining room as a sideboard and put the hutch in our office on the floor. She uses it as book case since we have a smaller China cabinet in the dining room . She was giving some of her old romance novels away recently and found 2k rds of 22lr, 200rds of 12ga, and a few boxes of 30-30 that I had hidden behind the books back in 2009 when 22lr was getting scarce and I forgot about it.

I moved out on my own in 1980. My mom called me at some point in the 1990's to inform me she had found a 22 rifle stuck in the back of my closet.

I have no clue where or when I got that gun. It is a pile of junk worthy of trading in at the next gun buyback, but I still have it. Never shot it.

I might forget where I put my keys or cheaters, but never forget my guns n ammo. I keep very stringent records in Excel. I know where all my firearms stuff is just like I know the back of my hand...wait, where did that freckle come from? o_O

About a year ago I was at the desk working on the computer. I needed to print something and the printer was out of paper.
I looked around and saw a box of computer paper under the desk so I pulled it out. I noticed it seemed very heavy.
I opened the box and it was full to the top of boxes of .38, 9mm and .22 ammo.
I don’t remember putting it there. I don’t even remember putting all that ammo in a computer box.

A while back.

One day while going through very old Christmas stuff, that we no longer use. I find a case of AR and Glock mags that I thought grew legs a long time ago. Why it was in there I have no clue. I had wrote off all those magazines a decade or more prior so it was a good find..

My move 2 years ago turned into complete chaos when the moving company I hired didn't show up the day of the move without giving me notice they weren't coming, leaving me scrambling to rent a truck and find friends and family to help me move. My organized move, with every box being labeled with which room in the new house they should go to turned into everyone rushing to get the truck unloaded and boxes being put where ever. About a year ago I stumbled across a box at the bottom of one of my closets, decided to see what was in it and was pretty happy to find 5000 rounds of Armscor 22lr.

Dropped in to a local pawn shop and spotted a No.4 Mk.1/2 (F) in cosmoline for $99.00.
I decided to pick it up, although I had one at home that was just like it.
I got home and couldn't find the first SMLE.
Searched all over.
Six months later, during a cleaning session, the other No. 4 reappeared - in a place that I had searched repeatedly... .
