Difference between SRP & 223P

What's the difference between small rifle primers & 223 primers?
I've always just used SRP, but this time I thought I'd be different & buy the 223 primers.

I know I have to rework my load, but what should I expect?

Mil-Spec primers are less sensitive and less likely to slam fire in an autoloader.

I always thought .223 or "military" SR primers had harder cups to prevent slam fires than regular SR primers.

Regardless, I make sure I seat them slightly below flush (.004") for my AR.

Made sorta specifically for AR15's. The floating firing pin can actually dimple a SRP just from being chambered. A slamfire could theoretically happen in an AR15 even with the primer seated below flush. I wouldn't use them for any other .223 unless for a specific reason. Even 99.5% of AR15's can use normal SRP with no problem.
