I Have a SDB and have reloaded 45 40 9mil and am having a problem w/the set of 380 dies. First the primer was out of round w/shell plate, what got me was 4 days on shell plate, but I have it and it works.. before and while that was going on the seater die was not going threw pressure plate and plate I could not get it to touch the bullet/with tech online. but he was a big help hanging in there! They have helped me a lot but has anyone ran into a problem of not being able to screw the seating die down far enough? I know 380 is pissey and set up a redding t7 just in case/factory crimp lee die is cool:) but I love my dillion .

My 380 ACP die set works fine on my SDB. No problems seating or taper crimping on the SDB.

If memory serves me correctly, the seating die body can be raised or lowered. This would affect whether the seating stem has enough range to seat the bullet fully.

But, I will admit I have slept since I set up my 380 ACP dies.

The shell holder was off and I hope when they send me a new seating die it works but the one I have now will not even meet the bullet an feels like it is going to crack the cast if I go any further? I made sure to try the other seating stem also w/no luck? they are marked 9 on both what I don't get every thing else lines up when bolted/screwed in? will see I guess? Thanks fella's.

Can you put on a lock ring which is not as tall to allow you to screw the die in a little deeper?

Nothing says the lock ring has to be on top. I have had short dies which required the lock ring to be installed on the bottom side. Just make sure there is no interference with the shell plate on full stroke.

On my Dillon 650, Lee dies I installed the lock rings underneath the tool head. I bought the Dillon smaller lock rings, which makes life much easier generally, but particularly in this case.

I don't think I can on the sdb,but will check. just had rotater cuff surgery. I will check as soon as I can, ups just brought a seater die insert380 to replace? been primeing and expanding on it and finishing on the t7 turret crimp die, /fcd! nice, thank u fellas!
