Sorry for the reflection on the Y. America, but it's the most in focus pic I have of that. The top break is just the plain jane H&R 6 shot. I'm still looking to add a 5 or 6 inch H&R top break 6 shot and a 5 shot H&R top break .32 Short, but the darn things just never show up on gunbroker in working condition.

Here's one of my Colts, a Police Positive in .38 Colt New Police. It was my uncle's, used before WWll in his job as a plant guard for Bethlehem Steel in Buffalo, NY. It also may have accompanied him as a CB on Guadalcanal and a few other garden destinations in the South Pacific. That was the story my mother passed down. The gun is well holster worn, but not really rusted to any extent, and as you can see from the target shot with pre-WWll ammunition, using a Weaver unsupported position, it's got the accuracy needed. The target says six rounds, but I only shot five that afternoon. Seven yards, single action. Best regards, Rod

All my 38's are special, so I can't help you there.

But I do have a Third Model, Hand Ejector, 32 S&W Long from about 1920 that is a lot of fun. It's been refinished, and the stocks are wrong for the time period, but who cares really.

And I've got a Taurus 327, in 327 Federal Magnum, but I shoot a lot more 32 Longs in it.

Good looking hand eject! great refinish job too

This one is 32 S&W "short", but the cylinders are drilled through and longs will load into it.

Then it's a Long, not a Short. The only way a .32 is a Short is if only the Shorts will go in. That Young American I have, those are bored thru chambers and will chamber a .32 Lg wadcutter, but nothing else. The top breaks will chamber all .32 S&W Longs, not just wadcutters and the throats don't measure .337", at least mine doesn't. If yours does then it was reamed thru by someone who owned it.

I have an old hand ejector chambered in 32 long, my uncle gave it to me years ago... I'm really not sure of the exact version it is, it's really old though.... still tight and in great working order but does have some finish wear on it.

I've never shot it... and I'd post a pic if I had ever taken one of it, y'all could probably tell me exactly what it is.

I had this same model Webley (in about the same condition) at one time, stamped SPF on the frame behind the hammer. I learned it was an ex-Singapore Police issue -- BTW, some of these had manual safeties.

I eventually sold it after acquiring a much nicer condition Webley Mk IV with the War Finish marking.

It's labeled "S&W 32", with no "long" in the caliber.

According to my research before I bought it, they were bored through at the factory with the unstated understanding that the long cartridges were the up and coming thing.

I own two, and they both accept the long cartridges. The first one I bought turned out to be a semi-functional "parts gun". The second one shoots the long cartridges just fine. They don't seem to be loaded much different than the "short" ones these days.

Lots of 'em.
