do all hk's have internal lock's?? also what's up with the lem tigger? is it dao or da/sa?

thanks for any info:)

All USPs and P2000s have the internal lock. It is visible/accessible only with a magazine removed, and is located in the backstrap. For P2000s, this means that each interchangeable backstrap has its own internal lock.

LEM is DAO in the sense that each shot has the same trigger pull. If you hol the trigger back after each shot, then let it move forward to reset, the hammer will drop as you let the trigger move forward.

They all do now - Some states require internal locks - So, its easier to make all the guns the same than it is to ship certain ones to certain states.

Might wanna go check out HK Por at www.hkpro.com

Not sure about the USP but the P2000 and P2000sk internal lock is very easy to remove. Just pop the pin for the back-strap, slide it down and off the grip, and pluck the lock out with a small screwdriver (electronics or eyeglass).

There is a bitty little ball-bearing that retains it within the grip.

I used my P2000sk for a couple thousand rounds with the lock in place with no problems. It appears well designed, but I'm of the mind that I don't like the risk no matter how small.

The LEM is a light but sorta long double action pull.
The nice thing is that when you release the trigger for the next shot, you don't have to go all the way forward with the trigger (Short reset).

Matter of fact, I'll be selling mine as soon as I get my camera so's I can take some pics of it.

No locks whatsoever in her. Firing pin safety removed as well.
Rock solid.

Just checked, my 'KE' date code USP 9 does not have the internal lock ;)

PS...that USP also has std rifling :D

I have a handful of original H&K factory original lanyard loops without the lock. They can be changed out in 10 seconds on any USP model.

PM or E-mail me if interested.

Dan

It's unfortunate that HK decided to place locks in their guns. At least it's easy to remove. I hate internal locks. I wish some states would require that all guns be available without internal locks. It should be up to the customer.

All my USP and P2000 have them. I forgot it's there until you brought it up, never had a problem with function or with a lock.

Lock or not, it's a non issue, it's all in your head.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am hoping that someone can explain to me what, specifically, an internal lock locks and how it is controlled.

Whoa, how recently did USP's have conventional rifling?

For instance the 3.8" USPc (in .45acp) is not even a current model- you think that's old enough not to have polygonal rifling?

Also, they are still only putting the recoil reduction system in the full size usp's right? What about the "combat" 4.25" version?
