I like oddballs. I’m putting one in the mix here. Marlin 62 levermatic .256 winmag. From the factory they had a 4 shot detachable box so a maximum load out of 5 rounds. Get an extended mag built for the thing and now your talkin. That little 60gr .257 hollow point bullet is explosive. The short throw lever is nice too because your whole hand never has to move, just extend the fingers and close them up again. It’s quick. Really quick for a lever. I have killed deer with it. It would work on anything smaller, and with the mess it makes of a chest cavity it would be quite effective on 2 legged vermin if needed. Only downside to the .256 version is barrel length. The 30 carbine version came with a shorter barrel. Cut and crown a .256, extended magazine, rock on.
