do punisher grips make your 1911 "nerdy"...?

I haven't read this whole thread, too big.

But, IMO, the Punisher grips are a lot like the Truck Nutz rubber testicles people put on their pickups. And the great big tires/wheels and lift kits. Just a "compensation" thing.

Seems like a lot of guys think big rubber balls hanging off their trailer hitch is cool.

I don't know about you guys, but the first thing I'm doing when I get a 1911 is putting "Hello Kitty" grips on it. :D

If you step to the line and put a magazine through the X ring at 25 yards, nobody will care what grips you have.

If you can't keep 'em in the black at 10, then you'll look like a real idiot with any sort of poseur grips.

i've got elk bone and diamondback rattlesnake grips on my kimbers. i say go for it. as long at the punisher grips look good quality, who cares??

Personally I hate them. I realy like the guns used in the movie, but I have seen these, and most of them look like crap to me. As for the nerd factor, who cares?

Do they make you look "nerdy"? "Nerdy" would be an improvement. They just look desperately "Dorky."

Now I like that idea. I had been thinking of some "Hand of God" grips ala 3:10 to Yuma, but they didn't catch on like I thought they would. Maybe Hello Kitty would be the right response...

I say do it. I just ordered some coral wood flame grips for mine, with my own style skull and cross bones engraved. As funny as I thike all things "Mall Ninja" are (even if I have some) , if that's your thing, DO IT BABY!!!!

I would do something with a more personal touch like I just did. i got the winged cross I drew and have tattooed on my chest etched into smooth aluminum grips.

I wouldn't. But we can't tell you how to equip YOUR firearm. Personally, I'd feel pretty darn 16 yrs old if I were to do that.

I liked the desription of how the stealth grips were made, but those are kinda spendy.

Does Marvel get royalties off those?

Who cares on a competition piece but if I was a cop I doubt I'd have those on my duty gun.

wow....9 pages! As a new 1911 owner I had to chime in, anyway.
I normally like understated and Punisher grips would not be my style at all.
I put a set of C&S green/black micarta linen grips...which as usual for me don't stand out at all on the all back gun... BUT I recently saw a set of Hogue blue Ghost Flame grips....I might just have to get a set

Forget what every one else says, its your gun, do what you want. Is it "childish" or "mal-ninja" no, its custome. There noithing wrong with having some fun with your firearms, yes its not a toy, but that does not mean you have to leave it stock, and not have fun with it. You can even paint it florecent pink if if that puts the wind up your scurt. If others dont feel the same then thats fine, they can have there boring guns, or only worry about the insides(which I understand being a mechanic) and ignore the look, or whatever, everyone is different. You gun, your money, your decision.

I'm a fan of the red on black biohazard ones on that site. The look pretty neat to me without being extremely flashy. I'm betting all the people saying "its not a toy" or "its not a kids lunch box" don't have issues with ar-15's having the matell toy look with all the plastic.

Edit. The hello kitty ar15 and the hello kitty .45 would make a nice combo.
