Interesting

Interesting thread.

If one looks to the past. One would think then, that one would not be paying to watch T.V. Or paying for water. These things still can be gotten for free, less so for the latter in most areas in the U.S., today...less so for the homeowner, landowner.
Today, their are some that think that once a mortgage is paid for in full that one owns the property with house…Not so….The way I look at it. Their will always be Taxes to be paid on it, every year. The homeless have it made…..note: please indulge me for the word “homeless” meaning “outdoorsman/woman” instead. They can live just about anywhere and not pay taxes. If I did not have a job and my house is all paid for, in full. When comes time I could not pay those taxes, to my uncle, who, I’m one of his favorite nephews, supposedly. I will be foreclosed on. So much for having a rich uncle. Sportsmen think they have it rough on the cost of hunting on private land.
If I knew this at the time I first purchased my house (paying taxes forever). That is, you will never really own it; I would have turned to a homeless, excuse me, “outdoorsman” lifestyle, where, wherever I lay my hat is my home, without paying taxes.
So, why should hunting (on private land) be any different? Referring to owners hidden cost, and passing it on.
You want a big buck? Big bucks. Just like if you have big land, big Taxes. It could be worse. Small, at the same price, as big. Vendors do this with sneakers/shoes for infants. The cost is the same as buying adult sizes. Why should I be charged the same price for less material used?
Yes, I like it the old way, as another poster put it, the way it was when I went with my ole’man as well, but times change, just like taxes (increases, change).
Texas, today, the homeowner/landowner is still "King of his Castle".
