Do You Advertise Your Gun Ownership

Someone here has suggested that they are ashamed to be a gun owner?
Sometimes, that's how it comes across to me. It sounds like some people will lie to others when asked if they have guns. ...
Hmmm ... haven't come across any posts like that ... but, then, I read only a very small percentage of the posts here, and, so far, only those in 3 of the forums.

I suppose it should not surprise me that there may be some gun owners who are ashamed of being a gun owner (perhaps better stated as afraid of being "discovered" and the subsequent stigma that may result) due to social/political pressures/biases within their circle.

I have a REDNECK sticker on my car..... then people can figure it out theirselves ;-)
Norwegian Rednecks? Hmmm. Never knew such folk existed.

I don't have anything on my car regarding gun ownership, but I do open carry on a regular basis and I have a collection* of cartridges on my desk at work. I think it would be a wasted effort for me to try to keep my interest in guns a secret.

Knowledge is power, and a bad guy 'not knowing' puts me in power. If a situation arrises, they'll find out.

Speak softly, while hiding a big stick.

I don't advertise where bad guys can steal some guns.

I do like to take friends to the range. I rescently took a friend to the range, a constitutional lawyer, that had never shot a gun before. He liked his constitutional right.

I have a US Flag and a "DON'T TREAD ON ME" flag sticker on the rear window of my truck. And also a couple of fishing related stickers. Nothing directly gun related though. I do talk openly about guns at work though. Most of my co-workers are either like minded or don't care. We have many hunters here.

I have an NRA sticker on my rear windshield. I'm not shy about letting people know I target shoot, but I dont walk around talking about it incessantly. Some of my friends know I own firearms. People I work with or just talk to casually don't.

But if they asked I wouldn't lie to them.

I'm in the boat where I don't go around advertising to people to come to my house and steal my crap, but if you spend any amount of time with me at all you know exactly where I stand.

If I am BSing with someone about anything, it doesn't take the subject of guns to pop up long at all.:)

I carry an NRA wallet (one of the best I ever owned); pay my bills with NRA logo checks; have an NRA sticker on the rear window of my truck along with a "Guns Save Lives" sticker from VCDL.

One of my favorite shirts is one I got from JPFO - a really nice navy polo shirt.

I don't wear hats (except when playing tennis or shooting in a match) so the ones I receive for renewing this or that just go in my closet.

I think the NRA is an outstanding organization of really fine people and I am proud to associate with them. If some people don't like it, I will not let that be my problem.

I don't really believe that criminals in my neck of the woods are ambitious enough to follow me home to find a house to break into. They seem to be able to find plenty of houses to break into on their own.

Nope....I try to keep a low profile in public.:uhoh:
Okay, I do wear a Jimenez t-shirt around the house. It's comfortable and it was a free gift. Heck, I also wear Fender, Ibanez, Peavey, and Epiphone t-shirts, as well as a tie-dyed t-shirt with a peace sign! :D
