So nearly 300 votes and almost 82% of those voting are members of the NRA, man I thought it would be closer to like 60-40. This is basically a hang out for NRA members:)

Yes

Life Member, NRA.
Member, VCDL.

Resolve to perform.... Oh, nevermind, read the sig line.

Give yourself a voice that is loud enough to be heard.

Hmmm. I've never been hassled by the NRA. As a lifetime member, I expect them to keep me abreast of 2nd issues. Yes, they called more than a few times leading up to the mid-term elections, and sent me a lot of e-mail as such, but I was grateful to have been informed and aware.

As the bumper sticker on the ass-end of my SUV declares - NRA: Freedom's Frontline.

To add to my previous post. Yes, the NRA will back a politico regardless of their other "social wackiness", as long as they "grade out" on the positive side with regards to the 2nd. There was one candidate in my state that was recommended that was just too far left in other areas for my tastes. No probs. Guess that's why God (and my beloved country) afforded me the freedom to choose, eh?

NRA member YES

I am a life member since 1995 and have been a member since 1971. I don't agree with the leadership 100% of the time but as Churchill is reported to have said "I would join forces with the Devil himself if it would help us defeat Hitler" of course that is paraphrased. Whatever it takes to defeat the anti-gun crowd and the NRA is our best bet to do that.

Have been off and on (80-90% "on") since college. Just got a life membership for Christmas...now that I'm an NRA instructor, I don't wanna worry about letting it lapse by mistake.

NRA: annual member
JPFO and GOA: life memberships

The NRA has to earn my dues every year and I make that point clear to them.

They're imperfect, sure, but they serve a valuable purpose.

Thank you for posting this thread/poll. I didn't realize the easypay option was available for a life membership. I upgraded my membership to easypay life this morning after seeing this thread.

I am pleased with the efforts of the NRA. I would like to see them continue their work and I'm especially interested what effect they can have during the next few years.

yes, I've been a member for about 10-15 years now. like what they do for the gun owners when no one else will.

I also joined for the first time this year thanks to Taurus....I bought a pt111 in 2006 which came with a 1 year paid membership to the NRA....the deal was too good to pass up!!....I hope Taurus and the NRA continue that deal, I think its a great selling point/incentive for prospective buyers

No, but plan on it eventually. Money's pretty tight so it prevents me from joining just yet. I plan to become a life member when I'm done with college.

Congrats on the new gun and the NRA membership. Hope you're able to keep the membership going next year.

Happy New Year!

Forced to as a condition of membership in my local club.

I would not be a member otherwise, as their actions (rather than their words) demonstrate a marked proclivity to more Republican Party shills as opposed to genuine 2nd Amendment supporters. If they would have the principles of the JPFO or GOA then they would have my support.

But that's just my opinion.

I was for about twenty years. Did not renew this year.

Why?

Because when the chips are down they are not looking out for the interests of ALL gun owners and only exist to further their own fund raising agenda.

Until the NRA can show where they have "gone to the mat" for all gun owners I won't go back.

They let the '68 ban go through, the '86 ban, the '89 ban, the '94 ban and every other piece of legislation against our Second Amendment Rights get passed and just sat there and did less than nothing.
