In reference to the OP, there is NOTHING underrated about the 3913, IMHO. They were the IN thing for while, after being introduced. DA/SA was just not my cup of tea, and after I bought the DAO version, the 3953, I sold the 3913.
I let a very dear friend have the 3953, which was a sacrifice, because I really liked the 3953. I intended to buy myself another one. But, I was comfortable enough with my other guns, and 3953s were always rare, and became more rare, so it never happened.
I reckon my present DAK SIG P229s are underrated by many. Heavy! High bore axis! Low capacity! Long trigger pull! Too big/wide! Well, for some strange reason, they work great in my skinny girly deformed hands, and I conceal them, often TWO of them, well enough, so leave me alone.
When I need something smaller than a P229, I avoid the miniature plastic autoloaders and rarely use J-frames, generally going with one or more of my SP101s. That is another one people love to hate, but they work for me.
There are plenty of 1911 haters, too, and among 1911 lovers, plenty of Les Baer haters, so even my TRS is underrated by some.
