Do you CC everywhere?

My work situation is pretty good. The owner is a gun guy and he carries every day. He encourages his employees to get their permits, and allows them to carry at work. Show and tell on new acquisitions is mandatory. :)

As a practical matter, my main carry gun gets locked in my tool box at the start of the workday, and I rely on my NAA .22 Magnum in a pocket holster. Mostly for the same reasons Bones741 doesn't carry at work, lots of awkward positions and plenty of grease, oil and Brakleen. Small pocket guns in decent holsters work ok, a full size handgun not so much. No state lines near me, so that's not an issue.

If I worked in a place that was unfriendly to guns and concealed carry, then I would have to make a decision about what is more important - the right to self defense or earning a living. I suspect that earning a living would win out.

I consider myself fortunate in that I don't have to make that decision. Not everybody is that lucky.

Hmm. Well since you quoted my post, I'm assuming your lecture, or rant rather, is directed at me.

If you choose to carry anywhere and everywhere, it's exactly that, your choice. Personally I think we should have exactly what you describe, a society where everyone legally able can carry a gun at all times.

No sir. Nothing I said in my "rant" was intended or directed to you personally. I appologize if you took it that way. I don't do personal things on line. I do personal things eye ball to eye ball and toe to toe. I was using the idea or concept in your post that states certain places could outlaw firearms to ILLISTRATE my point that although they may well make those rules/regulations/proceedures/policies/guidelines or whatever they want to call them, I don't have to follow them. Simple as that. Like I said, what is your life worth?

I followed orders when I was in the military and did things that placed my life in jeporady, BUT I KNEW that when I joined and took the oath of military service. Once I became a civilian again, I have only taken an oath to the Constution as an American and an oath to defend myself and protect those around me and I do not recognize ANYTHING contrary to that, nor will I ever until the day I die. Read my signature line. That says it for me.

I am former military and former Law enforcement and very familiar with the fact that there are certain dangerous elements at large in our society that only understand a superior force. So I am always ready to give it to them. The law is made by politicians, most of whom have armed body guards who go with them EVERYWHERE. Then those same politicians tell me, or attempt to tell me, that I can't have the same level of protection that they enjoy because their life is worth more than mine. Let them try me one time and see how far that goes.

Others can choose how far they are willing to go to protect themselves, but they cannot and WILL NOT tell me how far I can go because I recognize NO LIMIT on that. During the Revolutionary War, George Washington recognized that he would either beat King George, or King George would hang him. Self defense is an either / or thing. Either you do or you don't. There is no third option and I don't call 911. I call on my 1911. That number is as close to 911 as I am going to go and I submit that if more Americans would do the same thing, no criminal would be very excited about trying anything here. Terrorist are another matter because they don't care if they die while commiting crimes, or if you are in a so called "gun free zone," so I submit that we ought to grant them their wish and simply kill them and solve that problem which is exactly what I am going to do REGUARDLESS of what ANYBODY says to the contrary.

As always, my very best wishes to you and yours.

Ok, good luck to you too. Personally I believe in a fair trial for everyone in our judicial system, even when guilt is obvious. I also believe in doing what is necessary to protect myself and my loved ones, and get them out of a situation where they are in danger.

I will shoot to stop a threat.

I will not shoot to end a life. If a life is ended in the process, and that's what I had to do to protect myself, so be it.

However, I have no intention to kill anyone, ever.

Take care.
