Do you change the handgun and equipment you carry depending on the situation?

Yup. I have the following gun’s I use in my daily rotation….

Glock 17, 19, 19x, 20, 31, 32, 22, 23, 26, 29, 42, 43, 43x, 45, 48, M&P9 2.0, Beretta 92FS, Beretta 8045, Beretta 3032, Hk P2000sk, Hk USP 45, Colt 1911 .45, Colt 1911 10mm, Colt 1911 .38super, S&W 640, S&W 642, Colt Detective special, … it just depends on what I feel like carrying, what I’m wearing and where I’m going. Guns to me are like women’s purses…. Everyday is something different that I carry legally concealed.

I mostly stick with the Glock 32, 23 an 43x.
You carry your safe around on your back??

I think I already said it but I don't have a "Rotation". My daily carry is a Glock 26 with 13 rounds and a Glock 19 magazine as a reload. The only time that changes is when I'm leaving town or going to the mountains.

Statistically speaking that is 28 more rounds than I will ever need outside of the range.

So, if there's a place in town that is so squirrely that I feel the need to upgrade my armament just because I'm going there, I really need to ask myself why I'm going to that specific location.

Wait! I know the answer to this!

It's because I have a right to go anywhere I want to go in my own country? And because no thugs can intimidate me.

Was I right?
Sometimes it's unavoidable to go through high crime areas but I try not to put myself in harms way. You do have the right to go where you want and I felt a little like you in my mid twenties before I carried. After getting mugged/beaten by a group of 6-7 young punks and having a gun go off a couple feet from my head leaving a city bar where there was an altercation on the sidewalk on another occasion I tend be a bit more careful now I'm 72. It's not because I'm intimidated either.

Are you saying I DON'T have a right to go anywhere I want to go in my own country?
Actually you DON'T have a right to go anywhere you want in your own country. Try hanging out in the White House Rose Garden and let us know how that works out for you.

And that I am OBLIGATED to let thugs intimidate me?.
I'm not sure intimidated is the right word.

There's a section in the book Jaws in which Hooper, who dies in the book by the way, is getting ready to get in his shark cage and go after the shark.

Quint tells him he's an idiot. Hooper responds that it's a calculated risk with a reasonable chance of success.

This is the part that I want to emphasize

Quint replies to Hooper that getting in that Shark Cage is like deliberately putting your hand in a campfire. "A sensible man don't do it."

I don't carry a gun so that I can engage in unnecessary risky behavior.

If I'm not Specifically Required go to "The Hood" I don't go there.

I don't have anything to prove

Yes, of course.

*Criminals are still criminals.
*I cannot predict when I will go unscathed in a ghetto or be attacked in suburbia.
*the weather and my actives are the only things I can predict.
