What's your carry gun?

In auto's my favorite carry gun is my Ruger P345. When I need something smaller my Glock 26 is my go to pistol.

I have gotten into wheelguns again so, when I am in the mood to carry a revolver, it is my 3" GP-100, usually with my S&W 640 in my left front pocket for back-up.

My 24/7 always-everywhere gun is a Ruger SP101 snubby, regardless of what else I may be carrying. My go-to gun when not in police uniform is usually either the SP101 snubby or a 4" Speed Six, though I finally got around to getting a couple of good carry holsters for my duty SIG P229, so that may change just a bit. I also often have a 4" GP100 handy. I have found all of these listed weapons work well together, pointing well in my hands and having complementary trigger strokes, so that practice/training with one benefits my performance with the others. I dumped the Glunck after finding that shooting it interfered with my level of performance with the SIG.

depends on how long i will be out and the weather but either my keltec 380 or currently a sig 228..i am in the market for another glock 19 or an xd in 9mm so it may change

S&W 442-1 is my EDC 90% of the time. This may soon be replaced by my just-purchased M&P 340 which is the same size, a bit lighter, and chambered in .357 Mag. :uhoh:

Otherwise a P32 in the pocket or Walther P99c 9mm high OWB instead.

If i am going to be doing alot of walking I will either OC a 1911 (if OC is kosher at these places especially around Christmas with the loonies comming out of the woodwork) or CC a 40 M&P

HK P2000 (sk) in .357 SIG. Most of the time I take the full size.

I'm not trying to flame anyone here, but seriously, why bother with a BUG? LEO's don't carry them in case of primary weapon failure; they carry them because their duty weapon is exposed and could be grabbed by a criminal. Not really an issue with CC.

By all means, those of you who feel the need for 2 or more CC pieces, carry away. I just don't see a need for it.

BUG

When I first started carrying I felt the same way. It was awkward enough trying to hide one gun, why the heck would I possible need or want two? Since then I have switched lines of thought and figured out many ways to carry comfortably no matter what I wear. I have seen most every type of weapon have complete failures at some point for whatever reason. If you need a weapon, luck doesn't seem to be something you have that day. In addition, the nature of a struggle could easily lead to you dropping your weapon or not being able to access it with your strong hand. Most people aren't trained in weapon retention. Lastly, and my personal favorite, I don't know of a faster reload than grabbing your second gun. Just my thoughts on the subject.

Glock

G17 in either a Ross Leather shoulder rig (during the winter) or OWB Galco holster. Tried IWB with the glock, but could not get used to it.
My only carry gun at the moment. Will be adding a 1911 soon, hopefully. Nothing wrong with the Glock, just want another 1911 to tote.

I've been alternating again last week and this week based on wardrobe.
I am in central Florida, its 49 degrees over night and a high of 65, so I am able to wear a sweatshirt or light jacket again. This is a long awaited time for cwp holders in Florida. :), so the sweatshirt and cargo pants are out again.
Monday(12.17.07 today: 8:06am EST) Florida Gators sweatshirt and 5.11 cargo pants.
1. Primary: Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact .45ACP. , 1 extra mag. (Uncle Mikes inside the pocket generic holster)
BUG: Kel Tec P3AT .380ACP, 1 extra mag. (also Uncle Mikes holster).
light: Surefire G2 Nitrolon (in cargo pants pocket).
blade: Ka-Bar Dozier. Folder. (standard sheath).

Projected for the rest of the week if the cool weather holds up.
PRIMARY: Will rotate the Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact .45ACP with a Glock 27 i(.40SW) and Springfield XD Ultra Compact in .40SW( depending on clothing).
Will rotate the BUG out and replace with Bersa Thunder CCW version (.380ACP or North American Guardian .380ACP.
Light will remain the same.
Blade: will rotate out with other tactical folders.

I hope the cool weather lasts. Will probably rotate out the 5.11 pants to jeans and then use a belt holster for the Glock, Bersa,, or XD.

Let the cool weather last. :)

Lastly, and my personal favorite, I don't know of a faster reload than grabbing your second gun.

I don't worry about reloading an auto because I am pretty quick at changing magazines, but the fastest way to reload a revolver is to pull another revolver.

Speed loaders, speed strips ect. can be hard to handle under stress. At least they are for me. That is why my J-frame often goes with me as well when I choose carry my GP100.

CZ83, Sig 232SL or occasionally a FEG SMC-380 in pocket. Have also been known to carry a Bond Arms derringer in coat pocket. With all the winter clothing it just might be a little tough to reach the other piece. So a spray of 00 buck to buy time if still needed.

hard to reload but good one shot stopping power

Previously I carried a Glock 21 for the most part, though I'd tote around a Colt 1911A1 on occasion. Recently I've bought and switched to a Glock 29...I just couldn't fight the 10mm fever. After carrying the 21, the 29 just sort of vanishes.
