My family consists of my teen daughter, my mother and one brother.
When I brought guns into my lifestyle and my house, I had my daughter attend a firearms safety course, and she shot a .22 at the end of the course. She enjoyed it then, but has since lost interest. She doesn't care that I have them, but I don't advertise to her when I'm carrying.
I told my brother and he seemed pretty cool about it, probably because he's ex-military. To my knowledge he doesn't own guns.
My mother has no idea I own guns, and I have no idea what her opinion would be if I told her. I don't even know what her own position is on pro-gun/anti-gun, and I have no interest in knowing. Because of this, I see no reason for her to ever need to know that part of my private life.
