Sure do, an inexpensive 9mm. Just a backup for my model 37 on long night drives on frequently deserted Arizona highways.
Not in most of the South. Loaded long guns are completely legal to have in your vehicle.I see a lot of you carry long guns as your truck gun. Now I know firearms laws vary from state to state, but I believe "no loaded long guns in a vehicle" is a pretty universal law from what I can tell. Seems to me that an unloaded long gun is about worthless in a defense situation.
This is true of Alabama. Long guns can be carried loaded in your vehicle, no permit required to do so. This does NOT apply to WMAs or roads through military installations however. Not in most of the South. Loaded long guns are completely legal to have in your vehicle.

In my case, I have a single stacked .40 that is always within close range if I should need it.
I work in Memphis. The rule is this...don't keep anything in your car that you don't want stolen. Thats it. If it's in your car...it will be stolen. So no...I don't ever leave a gun in my truck.
In ohio it is perfectly legal as long as you have to exit the vehicle to get it. Or you can have it in plain sight with the action open and the ammo under lock.
Sorry, I thought we were talking about truck guns, not sedan guns.
