do you name your guns?

No.

I had a girlfriend once who named her cars. She was a bit older than I was (she was 32, I was 24) and I thought it somewhat juvenile to personify an inanimate object.

I do. Mostly so I can talk about the in public.

I can ask my wife, "Did you bring your MasterCard?"
"Yes, I never leave home without it."

Kimber Pro Carry II - Charlotte (From Charlotte's Web, named after the black widow)
My wife's S&W 642 - She calls it her MasterCard.
AK-47 - Hasim
Mosin-Nagant 91/30 - Sergei (After Sergei Mosin)
Marlin 336 30-30 - Annie
Ruger 10/22 - Rudy (my wife named that one)
Rock River LAR-8 - Ursula (or "One Mean B****")

no, they are inadimate objects, the company already named them.

+1

No names, no gender!! I don't name firearms (or cars for that matter) and certainly don't refer to them as "she". :barf:

Yeah, my mom and I both name all our guns. Like some other people stated, it makes it easier to call the guns by name in public rather than alerting people that we may have a gun on us. Plus, I enjoy personifying inanimate objects. LOL!

I don't name guns.

The only tool I have named is my wood splitting maul. Darth.

Anything that makes you grin a little when splitting a bunch of firewood is a good thing.

Yep, I shamelessly name my guns:

S&W Model 19: Teresa
Ruger Mini-14: Charlotte
Ruger Mark III: Elizabeth
Heritage Rough Rider: Annie
