Do you sell your guns?

I used to sell a good bit as I loved to go to gunshows. Wanted something to carry into the show in most cases. Have owned lots of good guns that I would love to have back today. But, at the time, they meant nothing to me.

I still go to shows, but I have cut back my driving distance a good bit as I am more selective about what interests me. My driving limit is 6-8 hrs. Further than that, I stay home.

I have only sold a few when I was much younger and times were really hard. I always regret it. No matter what. Doubt if I ever sell another. I guess its sellers remorse.

No I never Sell my personal guns. The last time I ever sold a gun was a Model 629 S&W in Utah when I needed money in the worst way back in '87. I might trade a time or two but the thing to remember is when you buy a gun. I buy for a solid reason and not just to have. Every gun I have has a very special meaning to me, every single one. From the 22lr rifle that I inherited from my father and passed on to my son to my Garands. They are good investments when you want them to be and whichever ones you want them to be. By anf far most of the ones that I have will be passed down to my son.

I buy and sell all the time.

I bought a FAL a while back and sold it for enough profit to buy a Winchester 30-30...

Bought a Glock 17 for $300... sold it for $450
Rolled the $ into a $412 Glock 19 with Night sites.
I have $263 in a Gen 3 Glock 19 with night sites...

Bought 2 M1's... Sold one so that I have $50 in the one I kept.

Gatta make deals to buy guns on a Cpl's pay...

I only sell current production guns... not guns no longer in production/ avalability.

+1 U.S.!

I went thru too much to get these guns. First, the looking and searching to decide I am interested in a certain gun. Then, lots of research finding out how they work, the reputation of the maker, how accurate they tend to be, finding out how much ammo for it will cost, how available are accessories... Then weeks of saving up money to fund the purchase. Then finding the right gun for the right price, winning the auction or placing the order. Now to pay, gotta get a postal money order, send it Priority mail with delivery confirmation so I can prove when and where payment was received. Getting them my FFL's letter if they don't already have it. Tracking the inbound package so I know when to go see the FFL. Hour and a half 1 way to the FFL. Do the background check, pay the fees and start paperwork. then the 10 day wait. Another 90 minute 1 way trip to the FFL to do the pick up.

That's a lot of time and effort to get a gun. I don't buy a gun unless I'm CERTAIN I want it. If I'm certain I want it, and have all this effort invested, do you think I'm going to sell it only to realize later I wish I hadn't? Only to have to go thru it all AGAIN when I realize how much I miss it? I don't think so. Once it's in the safe, it may live in the front, it may live in the back, but I would have to be in dire straits indeed to convince me to actually SELL one of them.

Whatever happened to "from my cold dead hands"? I'm planning to keep mine FOREVER and sell them NEVER.
