Rather than clog up everyone elses threads with my work I decided to start my own thread and post my work from time to time.

Here is one of several blanks I got online. It is left over from the old Camillus factory. Needs to be ground, sharpened, and polished.

The oak scales will be fitted, pinned, and stained.

That blade will sharpen up to a wicked edge. I bought several of that pattern as well. I just para cord wrapped the handle, becuase I wanted a nice slim neck knife / small game knife. One of my favorites as the blade is an exact match to my favorite folding small game knife.

Best of luck getting her to turn out.

Nice little hobby you got going doc.Keep you from boosing and chasing women.;)

I like scales better than paracord personally. Just make sure you keep the blanks away from the little one and the dog.;)

You are never going to forget that are you, Todd:D:):D:):D:evil:

Trying to cook up some homemade white linen micarta. Should be interesting.

Actually I find the para wrap useful in grinding and sharpening before fitting the finished scales.

Dang doc you are getting better huh? I guess I should break down and try one. PS don't forget to keep the scales out of the grandkids reach.

Another friend with a long memory.
Ok, back at ya, try not to be a day late thurs.( gotcha)

Seriously, stock reduction knife making is a lot of fun. Try one.

Yey, its about time doc. Great to see that you making progress. Looks very good, i like the blank skeleton handel idea. Sparked an idea in my head. Planning on taking my new bowie out for a bit of a survivor hunt type, few days, kinda thing. Good to see you got your own post. Dont forget mine though :)

I think I like that blade. 1095 or something similar? If it's not stainless steel, where could a fella buy a blank like it?

Here it is loosely fitted and ready for final sanding on another blank. The oak I quartered myself to get a better grain.

The blade for this knife came out scary sharp! This might replace my Becker BK 11 as my fixed blade EDC.

Dont know the steel. I suspect 1095 CV, Any Camillus gurus out there?

Floridaboy PM inbound.

Final fitting and sanding/filing of scale is going very slow. This oak is very hard.
All in all This could be the knife that I finally can honestly say has no flaws:D

Real excited to get it done, but not that excited to rush it.
