Here are my critera:

Slim (probably single stack)
Compact but full fingered grip
Similar in size to Kahr K9
9mm (would consider .380 or .45 acp)
All metal (i.e. no polymer frames)
DA/SA
Quality
Inexpensive (around $500)
Recent or new design (high parts availability)

I know something like a used Star BM would fit the bill but I'm afraid that parts would be difficult to source soon. I mention the K9 because I had one and loved it. I wasn't too keen on the DA only trigger but what made me sell it is that it bit my trigger finger every time I shot it (to the point of bleeding).

Sig P239? Off the top of my head.

Glock 26, but it's double stack. Full fingered if mag has pinky ext. Polymer...come to think of it...this won't work.

Ruger LCP

Just brainstorming here...

Sure it exists...

See gun on left, it meets all your requirements. M&P compact on right for size comparison. The problem however is A) finding one B) at your price point. A is a lot harder than B. However, when they do show up they command whatever the seller is asking and I've seen them all over the place from 400 to 900+ for inox..
What is it? Beretta 92 Compact L Type M. (Single stack with 8+1 capacity.)

CZ 82... this one is surplus and has been painted. These run around 200-250 now. This one is 9mm Mak. Thirteen rounds.

CZ still makes this pistol, the designation is cz 83. The ones I have seen are .380., I believe a 9mm Mak barrel and link are a drop in change out. IIRC all of the parts are the same between the 83 and 82 (except the barrel and link). They sell in your price range.

CZ in Kansas city serviced my 82 last year and it has been 100% reliable since. Great CS from them. Mine is most accurate with the cheap Russian ammo.

I believe you can buy grips to customize the fit. I ordered magazine bases from Beretta that fit the CZ mags perfectly and are just the ticket for added pinky support (I have large hands). At least one thing separate these from others in this class, a very smooth trigger.

I hate to say it but don't bother with an old Star. There's just not enough parts availability these days. I used to love me a BKM 9mm back in the day but no longer have one.

Wouldn't it have been easier to change your technique than to sell it?

Are you talking about getting your finger caught between the guard and the tip of the trigger? That usually has to do with putting too much finger on the trigger

Consider SIG P232. It is somewhat similar to the old cz and ppk but is also modern and has a good rep.
The new Bersa Thunder in .380 or 9mm should also be top notch, and cost less.
