Does an extended charging handle help when you have a scope?

I'll keep in mind about the add on extended . For now i'll keep an eye on the ones i got. 2 of my uppers are dual charging. 1 is side charge only. And my SW is rear only. I will only use for the rear charger will be to clear jams. On the 2 that are dual charge.

What do mean by kit?
What the person explained exactly what he meant, 'kit' is your gear that you use. That can be everything from a flashlight, to canteen, rifle, sidearm, knife, to what you are wearing, etc.
I don't have to worry about any kit set ups. I shoot from a bench with my AR'S.

Maybe so, but it is a reasonable observation for others who might be considering a charging handle.

I have one of those expensive BCM handles.

It unlatches itself on recoil, and the charging handle comes back and hits me in the nose.

I switched it back to the original design, and the problem seems to have gone away.

Note too, the "gas-buster" charging handles do NOTHING to prevent the tremendous amount of gas that pours out of the EJECTION PORT on AR's with suppressors. 90% of the gas that goes into your eyes comes from the ejection port.

After being an active firearms enthusiast for 35+ years I finally bought my first AR(ish) rifle (because of my state trying to ban them). Maybe I am just not used to the the AR operations but I don't really like the whole AR charging handle configuration. I prefer a side charging handle like my other semi-autos (HK91 is a great classic design). An ambidextrous (can switch sides) handle is even better (Ruger PC9).

Am I the only one that feels this way?

Then there are all of us that got introduced to the M16 at 17 or 18 and don't have any problems with the charging handle. The standard issue charging handle works and can be used easily by left handed and right handed shooter The system has been working fine for the military since the early 60's

As I mentioned before, I use the Radian Raptor ambi charging handle on all of my AR's that have a scope. The Raptor extends enough so that I can grab it without the scope being in the way.

Don’t go too big and textured for a defense rifle or it will get caught up on **** (tactically know as “kit”).

Personally I prefer a smaller charging handle and use a two fingered approach to running the rifle, but maybe that’s just because I don’t have my “kit” together. And yes I use an LPVO for both work and play.

Take that for what it’s worth, I find myself in some situations so to speak but am by no means tactical.
