Does anyone have experience with a rotary action semi-auto (like the Beretta Px4 Storm)

I have a Beretta/Stoeger Cougar and do think that the recoil is much milder compared to others in that class.

I think it may be more $$ to make and a bit more bulky which doesn't go well with cheap, small, light which is the trend now. Not sure it makes sense once you get too small as the recoil impulse really isn't there unless you're shooting competition and $$ matters less.

All that said, I think the Cougar is a great gun and if it hadn't come out during the AWB (thanks bill) with its own magazine it could have done a lot better than it did.

Same here. Three PX4s (2-40s/1-9) and one .40 Cougar and I feel the action is a bit softer and have never had a problem with any of the guns. I do keep them clean and lubed. I also shoot 200g flat nose hard cast ammo out of one of the .40s and is my carry gun while hiking and never had a problem.

Someday, two of the pX4s will be sold but will always keep the cougar.

Leaving aside the antiques like 1912 Steyr or 1895 Schwarzlosse, and unobtanium like GSh-18 and CF98, we only have 3 current production rotating barrel gun families:
- Beretta Px4
- Grand Power, like Q100
- Bond Bullpup nee Boberg

I heard some company developed a suppressor bearing for rotating barrel pistols. It worked like a Nielsen device, by letting the suppressor spin freely on the barrel. Their primary target was Px4, but it was applicable to Boberg, too. Unfortunately, a scale production of threaded barrels and the adapters didn't materialize.

Not quite the .380 the OP had asked about, but a couple of rotary pistols that come to mind and a little more of a handful are the original Auto Mag in 44AMP and Wildey pistols in 475 Wildey and 45 Win Mag.

Does anyone have direct experience with both the Grand Power and Beretta PX4 lines? Which is lower recoil, if any difference is perceptible? Any other observations? It’s hard to find comparisons of the two, just reviews of one that mention the other.
