I bought one of those "youth" Crickett rifles last year. Was pretty much an impulse buy and I thought it was a nice little gun. Its been sitting in my safe ever since and im trying to figure out a practical use for it.

Their website has an adult size stock that is a direct swap with the youth stock, as well as a scope mount. I was thinking of perhaps putting a 4x scope on it and using it for small game hunting. It only weighs like 3 pounds so it would be a joy to carry around in the field.

Im curious as to what sort of accuracy the gun is capable of with a scope, I know it probably wont be a tackdriver but is it accurate enough for headshots on small game (squirrel, etc.) out to 25 yards?

Thanks!

my daughter could hit shotgun hulls at 20 yards or so with it when she was 6.

i got one and i am tryin to sell it but it is a nice lil gun but i got a ruger 10/22 3 years ago and i can get head shots from 100yd easy but i bet 50 wouldnt be to far for a davy cricket but all i do with it is mess around if i were u i would get a rugar 10/22

Well, im not a big guy so it wouldn't look too comical with the adult stock.

I have other .22's but I would like to figure out how to use this gun for something productive rather than relegating it to gun safe oblivion or to have to sell it for a loss.

I'd wait til Christmas, and then give it to some deserving kid.

I don't have a cricket but I have a chipmunk that was my kids first 22, it is a tack driver but its a bit hard for a full sized adult to shoot. My kids used it til they got too big for it then I loaned it to a friend of mine for his son who kept it for about 4 years then I loaned it to another kid for a couple of years then a buddy of mine with two sons had it for about 3 years now I've got it back again and I'm looking for the next kid so I can be a hero again.
