I was just wondering does any manufacture make a futuristic looking wheelgun. Usually semi-autos get all the love when it comes to groundbreaking design, so is there anything that's really "New" for revolvers.

Cel...

I have a soft spot for revolvers that look all science-fiction-ey. It's kind of that retro-futuristic thing.

The best examples I've seen have been some custom S&W revolvers, usually performance center. Like THIS ONE, for example.

Or check out the limited run model 629 "Stealth Hunter".

Take a look at THIS PAGE and observe the custom bullseye model 625 pictured there.

Thanks!

Hey guys thanks for the replies! A revolver is most likely my next purchase. Those are some cool looking revolvers and along the lines of what I was looking for. If you find some more post them! Probably purchasing in the next month or so! Thanks again!

Yep, some S&W revolvers have sci-fi-looking barrels. I remember when the Ruger GP100 and SP101 were introduced; those were considered space pistols in their day, with the sculpted-looking lugged barrels

Manurhin 93 had a futuristic look, too.

And this gun had interchangeable barrels and sights.

Man, that's a nice looking gun, Nightcrawler. Is it real? Looks like something out of a sci-fi movie to me.

It's actually from an anime show. The gun pictured is a prop. Too bad they can't/don't/won't make a real revolver that looks like that.

Though, with an underlug (actually, an overlug, since the weapon fires from the bottom chamber) that big, it'd be a heavy beast... )

Hah! You know, I was thinking to myself that looks just like Vash the Stampede's gun. And what do you know, it is.

Why couldn't there be more variety on the revolver market like above?

Nightcrawler, I'd really like that without the overlug. I'd love to have a tough modern break-open and such a revolver would be well sought after and sell well.

As I understand it, these qualities are mutually exclusive.

Not necessarily. They make break-action weapons in .300 Win Mag, etc. It's just a matter of the design of the latch. I think with modern engineering, they could make one that'd hold up to, say, up to .44 Magnum (S&W levels, not the hot Ruger/TC only stuff).

It'd be a lot of effort on a product that might not sell, though.

Heck, they make break action double rifles in cartridges that make the 300 Win look like a 22, but rifles are a different story.

I agree that break opens are cool, and would like to see a modern one same as you guys. It's just got it's problems to overcome.

Tell these manufacturers!

Do you think we could convince manufacturers to "take it into the future" with more revolver designs? Those are some really nice guns you guys posted. I've always thought a futuristic looking revolver would be able to "show up" any futuristic semi just because of the combination of the old with the new.
