Does brass remain shiny when you use a hot water bath with Lemonshine ? I know using my walnut shells I can add NuFinish and the shine will last for years.
thanks would you recomend i finish in walnut shell for long term storage?
Wet tumble with dawn dish soap and lemishine. No wax. They will come out shiny, but without any surface protection they will tarnish on their own and develop their own patina. How can I get the Aged look for brass? I like the Vintage look
NICE! I’m going to get a well used, kindda rusty, 1911 and do a “War and back Look” need blood spatter on it tooWet tumble with dawn dish soap and lemishine. No wax. They will come out shiny, but without any surface protection they will tarnish on their own and develop their own patina.
Or you could try clean play sand instead of SS pins. It should give a dull look that will tarnish to a natural patina also.
I like the walnut look on brass! dull, a mans brass!I tumble finished cartridges in polish and walnut, after my wet clean, dry and loading.

Shoot it, use a rag to wipe it off, reload it, repeat. That's the way the real men used to do it. None of this prissy washed, waxed and polished jewelry in their guns. How can I get the Aged look for brass? I like the Vintage look

that’s what I’m talking about! dull like my ex girlfriend
Like this? Yes, with a wash and wax coating applied as I clean them.
They stay that way for a long time. They even seem easier to clean after I’ve got them the first time.
(I save orphaned brass from life on the streets.)

Or turn on the oven to make cookies, after forgetting some cases left in there to cool. When the oven dings that it’s pre-heated to 400, instantly remember the brass and burn my hands, I mean your hands, pulling them out.
That ding? It’s to tell you that everything in the oven is already at 400 degrees...
They will look like this.
But will be renewed again at the next cleaning cycle into perfect pieces of glinting gold!(Two new cases for contrast.)
They will also be easier to lose. Resulting in one more expensive case added to the slew.
Oh, hey Babe. You new here?
oooooh hell yeah! Let’s go get some beers!!!!Shoot it, use a rag to wipe it off, reload it, repeat. That's the way the real men used to do it. None of this prissy washed, waxed and polished jewelry in their guns.
I need to pass all of these ideas on to FiL. He's just getting started with wet tumbling. Anybody want to start a perma-thread on wet tumbling ideas and suggestions?
