Does concentricity matter ?

I’m not arguing, maybe just defending some common sense. it’s just sometimes after 70 years I can assume a couple things like stepping on a nail will hurt my foot. I don’t have to prove it to myself.
I have a few 308 rounds that I could play with to confirm or not, I may just do that just for giggles.
I have a granddaughter I’m picking up at the moment , that’s far more important.
The good part about all this stuff is that we only have to please ourselves.

I would think that the elastic limit of the brass would have to be exceeded before plastic deformation would loosen the neck. Moving the bullet longitudinally does not seem likely to result in plastic deformation because the diameter of the neck is not being increased beyond the elastic limit. This is just more conjecture, but it's all I have to offer.

Anyone with a micrometer can measure OD of case necks after bending bullets and case necks.

I took a loaded 308 round that measured .338, pushed it out of round and remeasured at .357. The bullet is so loose I can pull it out by hand. A bit extreme but I can assume it won’t straighten itself back out. What this proves is really nothing more than a wasted round.

I will add that while this stuff only matters to the individual and no one will care if I shoot more run out then him or her. It’s still fun and something different from the usual bear gun thread.
