Guys,

I'm going to be looking at an older Dillon press being sold by a guy who no longer reloads. Haven't yet seen it so not sure what model/manufacturing year it might be. Have seen lots of raves here on the forum about Dillon customer service.

That said, if I buy an older (and working) Dillon press and find I need to replace some parts, will Dillon have them (or suitable replacements in newer form) available for me?

Thanks in advance for the help.
Gerry

They don't bring out new models all that often. My 550b is twenty years old and it was not the latest thing back then when I got it. The SD has been around awhile too and so has the recently replaced 650. You will probably be okay.

What press is it?

They quit making some of the parts for the old RL 1050, when they went to the Super 1050. Then at the shot show brought out the RL1100, so what was old is new again.

They can make an older 450 a 550 and a 34 year old SD is still under the same lifetime warranty it started with.

I have a Dillon 450. Bought it new 40.+ years ago. Done many upgrades over the years. I have never had a problem with them supplying parts. They may be upgraded parts as opposed to original, but it all works.

Why ask here when a dime in the phone will get you the facts from Dillon?

Actually they have a toll free number that’s pretty hard to forget.

I have had the same 550B since the middle 1980's. If there are changes, the hardware is back compatible. I recall the powder horn mechanism changed and the new design works fine on the old press.

Yes, they'll bring it back to spec.
My 550 was new in 1993.
It's now a frankenpress, part 550B & part 550C.

They'll even refresh a 450.
