I was just watching MTV Cribs. It was featuring Hulk Hogan and his family. The whole show Hulk walked around in shorts and a tank top. He was also wearing a heavy looking fanny pack, or shoot me pack as I like to call them.

Does anyone else get suspicious when they see someone wearing one of the packs??

With those pouches not being as fashionable now as they were 10 years ago, I always wonder the same thing now days.

If it was way up by his waste it could just be his wallet and stuff, but this pack was hanging way down. I see him carrying a full size 1911 or something equally big.

no way!

He open carries and shows 'em off when ever he can.

:p :D

He open carries! LOL that was good!

He lives around here and I see him out every once in a while. I'll pay attention better next time, but I don't remember seeing him wearing one. Actually, I went with one of my friends to a party that was a couple houses down from his in Clearwater. He pulled up in his black Hummer (a real one) and was asking one of the guys out front what was going on because there was a bunch of cars in the street.

OMG! You met The Hulkster!?!?!? He's my hero. When I was a little kid, I'd rent wrestlemania videos and his theme music would make me tear up because I was so moved. If I met him in real life, I might cry and hug his leg.

...yeah, so what. I'm a 6'6" 300 pound 24 year old man who still harbors a childhood reverence for Hulk Hogan. I'm sure I'm not the only one here. Speak up.

I was never a big fan of pro wrestling, but every time I hear him interviewed in the mass media, I come away very impressed. The guy is an astute businessman and knows how to mold his "character" to stay relevent to the fans. That's another thing, he's all about the fans. Pro baseball/basketball/football players could learn something from him.

"There is only two kinds of people who wear fanny packs, fagots and gun owners."

Some guy in Texas

Or so I was told at least...... ;)

I think only the 'situationally aware' would associate a fanny pack with CCW. Most sheeple probably wouldn't think twice, same for most criminals (as they are typically pretty dumb).

I've thought the same about the packs. I remember about 7 years ago goint to a CCW class, and one of the guys attending was wearing one. I told him that he was just advertising that he was carrying, and he called it a "fag bag".

But as the Hulkster goes, I have always thought he was one of the best. In his prime, ( not that he is out of it), he could just pose, and BG's would wilt in fear.

I call 'em "granny packs" because I've seen a lot of old ladies wearing them.

Anyway though it seems like I've also seen a lot of bodybuilder types wearing them because they tend to wear bodybuilder type clothes that don't have pockets (such as those dorky looking cotton pants that are real baggy with tapered legs...like what the martial arts teacher in Napoleon Dynamite was wearing).

Read Jesse Ventura's book "Ain't got time to bleed" and you'll change your mind about what you think about Hulk Hogan. :barf:

I saw him here in Malibu a few times riding his Harley and up at the rock store with Jay Leno.Nice guy, talks to fans..

I wish the MTV episode would have spent more time on his car collection... He has some nice ones. Aside from the paint-schemed Viper, he has a few nice bikes and a 900+hp Supra, some Mercedes, trucks, etc.

It came down to issues in the WWF, Hulk Hogan was asked to represent all of the wrestlers because he was the biggest name. In the end Jesse walked, Hogan got a big fat contract and the rest of the wrestlers lost out.

Basically he sold out to Vince McMann to become the biggest name in wrestling and everyone else got screwed.

Hey, he did what anyone else - including those here - would do. He went for all he could get for himself. It's the American way. he and Vince are businessmen. Every business plan is a plus for some and a minus for others. Can't please everyone. No denying what HH did for the sports entertainment business. While keeping the persona going, he remained a very personable individual when out of character. Have had the opprotunity to meet quite a few of wrestlers (friend wrestles in WWE) Most are evtirely different folks out of character. They're just normal actors/actresses.

I don't know what kind of man Hulk Hogan is but I do know that there are two sides to every story.
