I own an FN SCAR? I own the weapon system because... well, it is what it is. No introduction needed. I love the gun. It is so hard for someone to talk crap about them if they've actually shot one. I'm not rich. In fact I'm just a former military member, now currently attending collage. I just spent money where I felt it was justified. I have no complaints, absolutly no regrets, zero dissapointments from this gun. (This is coming from someone who owns both an AR and an AK). The 5.56 has stopping power if you can shoot strait. (Fatal tumble/poison bullet) I just don't understand the anamosity towards the FN SCAR. Have you held one? Shot one? Own one? Is it not an elegant weapon? Are we so spoiled / closed minded that we can't pick up a gun and say whoa! This is really something. I am a fan of ingeneous engineering when it comes to firearms. Weather its made in America or someplace else. (Americans arnt the only ones making great guns by the way) I'm not sure of the point of this post, maybe its one of those... "Hey, don't call my girlfriend ugly!" Type posts. So yeah, what do you think of the SCAR? What do you think of what I have to say about the SCAR? Take care.

Regards,

I don't like the way they look, but I don't frown on them either, or those that have 'em. I think mall ninja might be going a little far even for those that don't like the guns.

They're very cool guns. I came close to buying one, but couldn't justify the price when there were several other similar guns I wanted. If I had more disposable income I'd be all over a SCAR. It's no more mall ninja than owning any other black rifle. Spend that much money on a semi-custom 1911, and no one would even bat an eyelash.

Nothing wrong with an FN. I don't like how they look. I don't like how they feel. (Yes, I've shot a few of them). I definitely don't like their price. (I don't think they present any quality or capabilities that are worth $1000+ more than many fine AR's). But other than my personal taste, there's nothing wrong with the FN. It's accurate and reliable.

As for Mall Ninja's, I know them when I see them, or I read their posts. I wouldn't call you one. I definitely know the ones on the different forums. But no need to start a war or hurt some people's feelings. Just leave it at; just because you like the SCAR, doesn't make you a Mall Ninja.

Nothing about the rifle that will make you a mall ninja; its dressing like this at the range while you're shooting it that will put you over the top!

I love my SCAR 16s. Yes they are expensive but now that I have one I have no desire to ever part with it. A lot of EBR's have come and gone from my collections over the years but I plan to keep the SCAR.

My SCAR with Eotech 512, yes that's right a factory tan Eotech 512a65 your eyes do not deceive you!

Different strokes for different folks. I gotten away from tactical weapons in the last few years for no other reason than personal taste. I have a long time friend that tells me on a regular basis how i'm missing out as he leans toward evil black guns and feels a revolver or lever gun would leave him way undergunned. Although his chevy was always better than my ford, even when my ford was draggin his chevy home :)

SCAR's are the new "IN" rifle. I don't mind being with the in crowd even if it is temporarily for them. ...now if I can just get me one. :))

Shiftyer1 hit the nail on the head. An aspect of why capitolism is so great is it's ability to flood the market with a cornucopia of any type of product to reach as many different demographics as possible. If the FN SCAR makes YOU happy, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Personally I think the SCAR is quite an amazing piece of machinery with a price tag to match, and while considering your personal sacrifice and service to the U.S. I think you deserve a little slice of projectile pleasure.

Anyways, there will always be some who envy and some who despise, but in the end the sun will still rise.

Here is mine. Pictured w/ a P-Mag, which dont match up exeptionally well with the SCAR. (They run fine, but dont fall free)

Lake, try the Magpul EMags. They're PMags with narrow tops specifically made for the FN SCAR, HK 416, and other European designs with tighter mag wells. They'll still run just fine in AR-15s too.

Nice call on the Aimpoint Comp M4 on top of your SCAR.

Why worry about what anyone else thinks?

It's a free country and it's your money.

Shoot and own what you want, dress for the range however you want, etc.....

Who cares if someone calls you a "mall ninja" on a forum. Folks that use stupid terms like this will grow up one of these days.

If it really, truly bothers you, send that Scar to me. ;)
(For evaluation only. I'll send it back to you when I'm done, or sell it for you, as I have no use for any high $$ weapons chambered in 5.56mm.:D

+ 1 million.

Don't let other peoples comments bother you at all. Trash talkers are normally trashy.

Buy and shoot any rifle that gets your attention. Everyone was different tastes in toys.

Definitely not a mall-ninja! Heck if I had the patience to save up for one I'd probably get one too.
The SCAR is darn cool. Nothing wrong with wanting cool stuff. Just as long as we remember that its not a zombie defense gun or a SHTF gun or something dweeby like that :)

They are cool, I guess, but WAY more than I'd spend. I could go buy one right now, but when I think of all of the firearms that I could buy for that much money, it's a no-brainer. I'd happily take 6-8 quality firearms over one SCAR.

if i had the disposable income at the moment, which i don't haha, i would have a SCAR 17S. I think it is THE 7.62 battle rifle platform out there right now.

If you take your rifle to the range and do anything but shoot more than 20 rounds from the bench at a paper target, you're a mall ninja. Just accept it and move on ;)

Also, EMAGs also have to be modified to work with SCAR if you want the bolt hold open feature to work. You have to change the notch shape in the back of the EMAG because the SCAR bolt hold open catches the mag follower at a different location.
