Here's the ejector on my Colt 1991A1.

I noticed that it didn't have a protrusion like I see on my Springfield Mil-Spec.

Does the mil-spec have an extended ejector or has the 1991A1's ejector broken? Sorry about the picture quality, a phone can only do so much....

Thanks!

Hi there,

Are they both Government Length frames?

Chris

Yes, both 5" barrels. The Springfield has a Commander grip safety. Needed it to make the McCormick hammer and sear work after buggering up the original hammer hooks. (I'm not partial to the beavertails.)

Do both guns function 100% If so I'd not worry about it! Unless one is launching your brass to where you can't find it and you are a reloader.

I'm getting closer to 100%. On my last outing I only had 2 failures out of 100 rounds. The Springfield send everything to about my 4 o'clock. The Colt ejects from 2 o'clock to 6 o'clock. Most of the time the 6 o'clock goes over my head, but occasionally I'll catch one in the forehead.

I guess the extended ejector is only on the "standard" mil-spec models. My GI's ejector looks like the one on the top and is not extended at all.
