They suck, worst rifles ever, do yourself a favor and don't buy one!:what:

Seriously <...> I have been thinking it would be nice to add another to my collection. Maybe something nice and original and pretty to keep that way, and since my current one has a refinished stock on it, drill it for some competition sights. The last one I bought was 8 months ago, and since then they seem to have gotten kind of hot. I figured for around $300ish I could grab another nice one, maybe even in the $200 range since the gun dealers are sucking wind now; nope, not happening unless I get luckly. I can get a beater for that price, nice ones are on their way to $500.

So I'm going to start talking about what <junk> they are. Seriously stop buying them.:scrutiny:

I wish the market for FN49's was this hot.

I'll trade you a good rifle, a Mosin 91/30 for that Swiss POS...I mean how good could it be? The Swiss have never faught a war, its totaly untested...now the Mosin thats quality they won a few wars.:D

Seriously stop buying K31's!:scrutiny::cuss:

love mine for the $200 i paid and the $35 to have the stock restored and i also loved the sks i bought for $100 and sod for $400
3 years later.

u can still get k31 at j&g for $300+- some places less with a c&r
no matter how or who talks down a gun people will pay the price if they want one bad enough.

sks has come down to $300-350 here, don't see any $100 ones any longer

I paid $200 for mine, with 100 rds gp11. The bore is excellent, bluing about 85%. stock very good except for one spot where it got beat up by someone boot cleats. People have to just refuse to pay stupid prices for things. Avoid those ridiculous auction sites.

I've seen them all over price wise, birch stock for $200 couple weeks ago, at a diff. show there was another with a $700 price tag, I didn't even ask, must have been the presidents gun or something, but it seems $300 is average now. If I find a walnut stock for $250 or less I'll probably pick it up,,,what a trigger, great gun, just wish it was a little shorter.

I have to agree with other K31 owners here. I have to work the bolt manually on my POS K31. I think I need a new recoil spring or something.

You need to use heavier loads. You are probably using that garbage GP11 stuff---it won't cycle the action on mine either.

In my experience, they have always been hot.

For, like the last 10 years.

They have always seemed to be the most desireable surplus regardless of ammo supply or what have you.

I've seen some pretty crazy asking prices on K's, but I don't see them selling on Gunbroker at least. To me prices seem to be down, maybe not prices but the number of fire arms that are getting bids. Economy sucks in my AO.

I ve got one already with 200 rds of GP 11 as stockpile. I m waiting to use this for deer hunting when the opportune comes along, of course, with use of Hornady BTSP.

Just picked up a Walnut K-31 in great shape this week for 275. Shot it today and I LOVE this rifle. It just balances so well and shoots like a dream. Now I just have to learn to shoot worth a damn w/ iron sights.

I don't feel bad now. I paid $165.00 each for my two about 4 years ago. excellent shape. I think I will hold on to them for awhile. Also bought 4 CZ 52's when they were going for $95.00 each.

K31 is carbine length for it's time. But it is a significantly large weapon.

Oh, and yeah. It's a terrible gun. In fact, I can take one right off anyone's hands. PM me for my address so I can recieve your "gift."

Forget the K-31 get its replacement the STGW 57

Its a lot more fun too...

AFY, what do I have to do to get that eye sore out of your hands? I mean it's disgusting. No real man would want one. You should consider how good of a person I am for wanting to help you dispose of that atrocity ;)

Seriously though, where can I get one?
