Actually, the OP didn't really specify what he'd be shooting at with it, although I guess the phrase "Dooms Day" implies a societal breakdown of unprecendented magnitude. Of his listed choices, a Remington 870 or a Benelli Super Black Eagle II, I'd pick the 870.
