Just had a thought. Actually, it's rattled around in my head for a bit now and I don't think I've seen any discussion on it before.
In handguns there are Single Action designs, Double Action, SA/DA, DAO, etc.
I was thinking about rifle and shotgun designs and action types. It seems to me that all longarms are single action only.
Are there any rifle or shotgun designs out there in which pulling the trigger performs essentially a double action? The only one I could think of might be revolving rifles.
Also, is there something in the designs that inherently prohibits using double action mechanism?
