My past attempt at drawing a 1911 was less than satisfactory. I don't know why, but the 1911's form has always eluded me. I think I did a little better with this one, though.
Oh, man... I've got ones that are MUCH higher resolution than that. Give me a day to get them on the 'net, and I'll post a link to my hunt101.com gallery.
I think you have alot of talent is it natural or did you take classes?
Thank you. I jumped right into the advanced drawing class in High School, but that dealt more with different methods of drawing. I guess it's just something that's *just there.*
hunt101 does something horrible to resolution, don't know why. look at photobucket or something else. nice drawing but i wonder if your equipment is holding you back, do you have a selection of hard to soft leads?
You did a good job. The depth of field is a bit off or the angle.
What kind of pencil did you use?
Curious cause I' m an art dork.
I use 2H,B,2B,6B, and Ebony on Canson paper.
I recently switched to pen and ink, spattering sloppy mess; I love it.
I think if you are going to draw a gun, add more to the image. Like a clip and possibly scattered bullets. If you just want the gun, make it a technical drawing. Broken down exploded view etc...
Also work more on the lighting, look at the shadows more. Proabalby should/could be darker. There is never bright white on a drawing unless it's a highlight.
I always do the highlights last with a kneaded eraser. Other than that work up the values and reduce the lines.
You draw well and will only get better. You have an eye for detail and the hand to put it on paper, now concetrate on the value range and composition. Do that and you will make something great.
Man I don't think I could get a better picture if I scanned my pistol in and then used a program to make it look like a drawing (yes I'm a computer dork). Nice work, someones gotta make up for the huge artistic chunk missing from my brain.
