I know I'll be crucified for this but I don't really care. Cautionary tale.
When I was 18 yo I moved out of my mom's house and into a small house a widow had built on her farm to rent out and help pay bills. I had all my guns in a safe up north due to working long hours and not being home often, and new to my location, I thought I could easily be ripped off so I decided to bring just one handgun with me for the time being. A Ruger sp101 that I kept under my pillow. I know THR. Not smart.
Anyways, I had a dream my new home was about to be robbed and my Ruger was either full or empty (remember it was a dream) so I tested it by pointing it at the ceiling and pulling the trigger (again, just a dream). The gun went bang and the intruders never broke in.
When I awoke, I went to put my gun behind the water heater in a hidin cubby before I headed to work and flipped open the cylinder and a primer had been punctured. I went into my bedroom and sure enough, there was a hole in my ceiling. Thank God no one was hurt.
What I learned; dreams are strange and lock boxes, and safes are necessary.
So the gun discharging inside a small bedroom did not wake you up?
