I will just give the scenerio, as any comments I have pretty much would not comply with the rules of conduct here at the high road..

I'm eating dinner, and on the news, there's a report of a drive-by.. So I see what happened..

The person shot was a college student.. The interviews said that the student came from a very poor family, but studied hard, got into a great college and was about to graduate, and was already offered a good job. Believing in hard work, he would spend most of his night in the school library studying, so much so that the librarian made him a key! A great student, and a very loyal friend..

So the "rich" kids in the college (who allegedly were his friend) felt that poor people shouldn't get good grades, shouldn't get good jobs etc..

So a few of them planned it out; at around midnight, they called him saying that they were in trouble and needed his help. Being a loyal friend, he got on his motorcycle, and raced over.. At a red light, his "friends" pulled up in a car next to him, and shot him with a 9mm at about 3 feet away, 1 bullet to the head. What was more rediculous, this was all witnessed by passer-bys..

The police know basically who is involved, but don't know to what extend the list of names run.. Also, they don't know who fired the shot, because none of them are talking..

The boys all have "powerful" politican fathers, and so that's playing into the mix..

But all I have to say is they all should get 20 years in the electric chair!!

:cuss: :fire:

I won't even begin to comment on this.. As my blood is boiling right now..

...20 years in the electric chair

Nope.

It costs more to keep someone in prison for a year than it would to send a deserving young person to virtually any college in the nation. As far as I'm concerned, cold-blooded murderers deserve a short rope and a long drop.

This just happened -- it's being reported as breaking news -- and the cops already have that much information about what happened and why?

The cops have so much info for a few reasons:

1) The kid that got shot told his parents where he was going, and who he was going to see.

2) Cell phone records (both on his cell phone, and the person who called him) confirm the phone call.

3) EYE WITNESSES.

Apparently, the kids who did him in, have fairly modified cars, so much so that the witnesses were able to describe, in detail, the car, and how many passengers..

I just hope that "daddy" doesn't get these boys off scott free.. Because they all deserve to rot somewhere..

I can't even put into words how this makes me feel.

As for daddy getting them off.....................what kind of world do we live in.

If my father so much as caught me smoking a joint he would most likely beat Jesus into me so to speak and I am almost 30 years old.:what:

If I did something like that I am not sure if my parents would just let me pay the consequences of just simply kill me to save society any more problems.

This is as it should be. I never really got spanked that much growing up and most of my punishments were grounding / go to your room / cut the grass type things but man there were lines and unspoken things that if crossed I just knew I would end up in a coma.

Just for the record I have never actually ingested a legal narcotic well maybe a contact buzz but that's it. Course I did drink like a fish from about 16-25 so it's probably not that different.

As far as I'm concerned, cold-blooded murderers deserve a short rope and a long drop.

But why let them have fun? I mean, they committed a serious crime!

...

...Oh, you aren't talking about bungee jumping, are you?

Seriously, I do think that maybe we should, instead of making unneccesary laws that punish the innocent, bring back the gallows.

Sometimes it is comforting to know that there is a Hell, and some will be there for an eternity. This is one of those times. Let's not delay their rendezvous with the bad part of the Eternal Neighborhood.

Sounds like the parents haven't been apart of there kids lives. Even if they are in college. You still need to be intouch and apart of their life. Know what they are doing. I know you can't know 24/7, but at least try to know. I not saying to smother them. Its all in how you've rasied your childern. Now that the family lesson is over. Eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. They shot him. They deserve to be shot. All of them. They all planned it. They all deserve it. Granted it easier said by me, since I'am not their parents. If it was one of your kids in the same situation what would you do? I not trying to justify what they did. What the did was wrong and they all deserve to be punished. I,am just thinkin cause I have a son of my own and I wonder what would I do.

I have a son and daughter, too, and I do what I can to prevent them from becoming vile miscreants. This means that I get involved with their lives. All the time.

It also means I teach them that there are consequences for their actions; if they get caught doing something wrong, i.e. stealing someone's lunch money, they WILL take the heat.

poor people dont "deserve" to go to college? wow some one remind me what country i live in a again

This is California?

There are parts of the country where the shooters would be safer if they were locked up than if they were put in contact with the dead guy's friends...

I whole heartly agree with you ojibweindian. And that there are consequences for there actions. But what I'am tring to say is if your child was to just shoot another person(dead). Would you let them be sentenced to death?

At least here in California it's over turf or something like cutting someone off close while driving. While neither are valid reasons for deadly force, no one shoots anybody here over grades. Rehabilitation through reincarnation!

This is in Taiwan..

The gun laws here? Unless you have a badge, no guns allow :cuss:

And even then, only beat cops on patrol get guns, pencil pushers don't.

CSlinger, I was raised "old school". My dad never hit me when I was a child, not because he didn't want to, but because my mom had faster hands :D

Also, my mom always asked us the one single question "Do you want me to use MY belt or yours??" That usually solved like 99.99% of any problems I was even thinking about having.

My mom catch me smoking a joint?

Does the phrase "I brought you into this world, and by the grace of God I can take you from this world" sound familiar to anybody??

If I did something like this, the LAST person I'd want to see would be my parents. They kill me themselves!!

4v50Gary, people do in the PRK... how do I know?? My friend's friend is now sitting in jail because she tried to kill her sister, who had better grades... but then again, that's a family thing..

From this story; there are only a few things comforting to me (although I agree with oji 100%)

First; everybody is in an uproar and so it doesn't seem like daddy is going to be able to get them off..

Second, this is definitely 1st degree murder.. and here in taiwan, that means a bullet to the back of the head. So Standing Wolf, no rope. 1 bullet, they allow you a blindfold if you so wish, and a cigarette...

Whoever pulled the trigger will get the death penalty.. While daddy can't get them out of prison, daddy MIGHT be able to prevent the bullet in the back of the head.. If that's the case, they need like 3 lifetime sentences..

kenehsr, what would you do? You'd look your boy in the eyes, and say "You know what you did; you now know what you must do.. I still love you because you are my son, but you have to pay for the results of your actions.. nothing's free in life." and send him a fruit basket every year..
