Brother Rockwell would no doubt have like those because "they needed owning"

Pretty even if the guys that want all authentic might turn up a nose at it.

Wonder if you could make the loading rod by turning down a big brass bolt and a couple of turned down nuts sodered or glued to a few remaining threads.

:fire::cuss::cuss::banghead::cuss::fire:

This is an EVIL thread!!! I went to the Dixie advertisement and was taken over by a daemon and forced to buy the &^%$ thing!!

Oh well.

Merry Christmas to me!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Dumb question # 1. How is the brass dohickey used.?
Dumb question # 2. Is it possible to load a revolver like a single shot or rifle?

The brass "dohickey" is used as a plunger to seat the ball (or bullet if you prefer) against the powder.
Yes you can load only one chamber. You can load any number of chambers you want to.

T...G.
Right....... but can you load from the muzzle instead of dismounting the cylinder. Just an idle Thursday, morning' to damn cold to go out side, nothing better to do then browse THR kind of thought.

There is a hole in the frame above the chamber that is in the 6:00 O'clock position. The brass rammer (the "dohickey") fits through this in order to load the revolver.
Pietta has made a couple other snubbies that load this way.

Well... shucks... at least it's a slabside so's as to make it easy to remove that silly Pietta Grafitti on the side. When, oh when, will Pietta "get it" and clean these up?

I'd buy one tomorrow for fun if it were not... covered with grafitti.

 Gee whizz. It ain't like I sorta thought it really was a 160 year old revolver ......
While I admit Uberti is better, they too have their little proof marks and what-not stamped on the frame and such .... and if they're distributed through another company they'll often have THAT name printed on top of the barrel.
Six of one; half dozen of the other ...... ;)

BTW this gun above the PN mark (Proof nitre or black powder proof has a new mark "CIP" -- anyone know what that means??

OK...Now I see. Too busy letting my fingers run away with me. Ram hole is still there
for the brass tool. I am guessing the flat head is for a light tap with a mallet to get the
ball started. My first impression the cylinder would have to be dismounted for loading as with my Paterson.
Hope you will let us know how she shoots.

Not bad but if I got one I would cut it down shorter. I think they look better shorter like this one I did a while back
