I am looking for a good DRY lube for inside my marlin 1893. I am shooting a lot of lite loads so it doesn't seal well. Any oil I put in acts as a trap for "gunk".

I've used Hoppe's (apply outside, the fumes are strong) and White Lightning bicycle chain lube. Remington also makes one.

Safari Charlie seems to be gaining a substantial following in the shotgun sports world. I have spoken with a couple of gunsmiths at sporting clays competitions that have switched to this product.

I've used it and I'm particularly impressed with rust protection properties. I have a table saw with a cast iron table that I had rusting issues with for years. I cleaned the table with this product and a nylon scrub pad and then reapplied. I haven't had any rust for several months.

Powdered molybdenum sufide is as dry as it gets. The other convenient product is Remington's Rem-Dri Lube which is a spray-on Teflon type lube.

I like Remington Dry-Lube spray.

Sometimes hard to find, but Walmart has it off again & on again.

Don't know what caliber you have, but try leaving a slight flare on the case mouth to help sealing.

My boss uses dry lube and he loves it. I'm gonna have to try it because it would make a lot of sense to use it especially in my pocket guns (P32 / 380 bodyguard) because of lint.

Action Magic II

Brownells "Action Magic II" is an excellant, two part, dry llube that is designed for firearms. It has great lubricity, while allowing an action to be cleaned with compressed air. Highly recommended.:)
