I tried some dry spray silicone spray to lube some cases and it worked well, any reason why I should not? Any harm to brass? Should I clean brass after? Any experiences using it?
I wouldn't use it for rifle cases but I do use spray teflon for handgun brass, I know, I know its not required but it does ease the step of resizing cases, and keeps arthur in my wrists and hands quiet.
Too many cases of stuck cases using OneShot for making me happy. Probably from not being used correctly but its not that big a deal to use Unique or Mink oil boot wax.
I even use bag balm on my 30-06 cases and its great.. On the one shot you have to spray the inside of the neck of the case also. I use a good spray on one side of the cases loaded in a block and then the other. Then a 45 angle over the top to catch the inside mouths.
Any other household/auto spray lubricants that can be used to lube cases. I would tumble after sizing to remove lube. I just think that a large can of silicone based lube is cheaper than a small spray can of oneshot or lube spray.
I have been leaving RCBS case lube on my 9mm cases. Even though I am using a carbide sizing die on my Dillion 550B, these lubed cases glide in the die and don't bump powder out of the powder horn.
I don't tumble the lube off , the rounds feed and extract just fine.
Silicone should be pretty inert in terms of brass, it will cut down on the friction in the chamber, should not hurt a thing.
