I have a newer crew cab pickup, and have been looking at the under seat storage setup from Du-ha. It looks great, but isn't cheap at all. I was just wondering if anyone else has one, and what they think about it.

Here's a vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_RloRmghCU

Does it work half as good as it looks in the video?

It appears to depend a lot on which truck you have, as to how much room there is. The one for my superduty says it only holds 2 guns. Some say up to 4. But in soft cases, I'm sure you could stack a few more in there.

The price has kept me away for quite awhile. But I found one on ebay, open box, nearly half off. There were a few others, look around.

I'm sure it does 99% of what they say. The interesting thing will be finding out what rifle/scope combinations will actually fit. There is a big difference between a Henry 22 bare, and a 308 with target turrets, 50mm objective, and a target stock.... But I imagine that without the dividers, several rifles (more than two) in soft cases will fit.

I got it in. Real easy install. But its been near 100 here with 60% humidity so I'm not taking any rifles out to sweat and rust. It's gonna cool off in a few days I'll get a few pics up then.

Not to highjack here: I used to have seat covers in my pickup, looked like normal blanket type. In front of the seat, where legs cover the front part, were 4 small compartments for gloves, whatever, on the driver side, when getting into the pickup, there was an open "sleeve" if you will, went all the way across the seat front, one could store a Win. type rifle, I carried my '94 Big Bore there all the time.

I'm very interested in one of these now, but not for guns - just normal crap I keep in my truck that needs a storage place.

That's going to be it's "normal' function for me as well. Right now it has a half dozen cordless tools and a bag of elect. crap in it. Doesn't even seem to rattle too bad. But the gun storage is a plus, that will be used on occasion.
