EAA Elite match review

Well, I finally got to shoot my EAA Elite Match in 9mm. Here are my observations.


1. Trigger is very nice, better than the CZ 75 SA I owned.

2. Fit and finish is a bit nicer than the CZ 75.

3. The Safety is easier to disengage over the CZ.

4. Sights are adjustable, and nicer than the CZ. Being that said, they should have a higher profile, they are very low profile for a Match gun.

5. Grip feels huge for a 9mm, remember it is built on a .45 frame. But over all, I like the big grip.

6. Recoil is like a .22....well almost. 9mm in such a huge light gun is very light.

7. Freaking lockable case is the nicest case with any gun I have bought.

8. Only comes with 1 mag, but mags are about $25 on line at cheaperthandirt.

10. The right side of the slide is showing wear, but the left is not. I'm not sure if that is something to be concerned about.

I have added stainless screws that fit CZ's in the grips. There is a guy over on the CZ forum selling those cheap.

It is the most accurate 9mm I have shot/owned. This included a Glock 34, 19, 17, Beretta 92, Taurus 92, and CZ 75 SS and 75 SA.

The slide rail wear issue is nothing to worry about. How is the barrel to slide fit?

Is it tight, like it should be?

Not %100 sure how to check that hags. It seems pretty tight. Is there a way to check it?

GREAT GUNS at a bargin price

PS -- both my Elites Match guns have a little blueing loss around the front of the slide --- nothing to worry about as after almost 1000 rounds , it has not got worse.

Anyone--(Hags?)--Does EAA import .22 kits for the Witness models? Any idea about the cost? Performance?

The Elite really is a good looking gun...

I've been wanting one of these for a long time in .45. I've noticed they've started coming with a new style skeletonized hammer instead of the older heart shaped type, makes me wonder if there are any other differences in the old vs new EM's.

Once you develop a good load for that gun that group will shrink.

Mine makes one hole. It took a while for me to figure it out. I started at a base load of 4 grains of Bullseye under a 230-grain RN. I went up and up until it got pretty hot. In the end I went down from 4 grains of Bullseye to 3.5 grains and it is a one-holer.

It is kind of odd because when shooting jacketed bullets it seems to like the hotter ones.

I do have to admit, for guns in their price range they are the best I've seen.

Yes,

I was ver suprised with the UPC grouping. I have found they are one of the worst loads for accuracy. Blazer has ALWAYS grouped better for me.

Being that said, I don't have a reloader, but I am saving my brass should that day ever come.
