For a long time I have wanted a high power. Now I see the EAA / Girsan P35 is on sale for $499. Any one had one of these?

Saw their ad; it claimed that their gun included the magazine safety, which, traditionally, hasn't been hard to remove.
Presume it is a Turk; the SA version is a nice gun.

Got one not too long ago but haven't shot it yet (I hate my schedule!!!). If you like it old-school, it's a nice piece. It's not as gorgeous as my vintage Belgian, but then, I didn't expect it to be (traditional blue will always look better than cerakote). Everything else about it is pure HP, including that most dubious of features, the mag safety, as well as the heavy SA trigger that goes with the territory. Some have commented that the sights take some getting used to; they seem fine to me (but then I haven't shot it yet!). One improvement is the 15-round MecGar magazine that comes with it (fully interchangeable with vintage HP 13 rounders). It seems to be a quality piece, especially considering the price.

My local shop has had a couple in and sell them quickly. I haven't bought one yet but the shop says all the feedback has been good.
I understand they only come with one mag. The shop hasn't stocked extra mags so, I guess you have to go look for your own.

I've got one. I have a couple hundred trouble free rounds through it, mostly factory FMJ, but some of my reloads, and a handful or so of hollow points that I had left over from one box or another. They all shot just fine. Not as pretty as a Browning, but at just over $500.00 out the door, I don't really mind. The Flat Desert Earth (tan) finish was my least favorite color of the three offered, but apparently it was the only one left when I ordered it. It's grown on me since and I don't really mind it, but I would still prefer the black/silver or even the plain black. They do only come with one magazine, but any Browning mag will fit. Since the only place mine will get shot is as the range, I just picked up a couple of ten round Mec-Gar's for it, and still haven't used them. At first I didn't think I'd care for the black rubber grips, but since using them, they too have grown on me. They're quite comfortable actually. They'll stay. The trigger is sort of heavy (about 7.5 lbs) but breaks clean and feels lighter than the scale would make it seem.

How faithful is the EAA version to the original? I know the Springfield SA-35 has interchangeable parts with the original with only several upgrades like the sights.

If I remember correctly, they had minimal parts compatibility but we're much more faithful than something like FN's new "High Power." I handled one at a fun store a few months back and personally I'd try to get in under $500 but still wouldn't be overly hurt if I paid close to that.

Edit: just looked it up and all parts are compatible with other hi powers. I said I'd never buy another turkish gun but if I got a really good deal on it, I might reconsider that stance for this one.

Got one OTD for $500.

Yes, the trigger is heavy but is is crisp.
No, the finish isn't like the NIB original FN P35. Neither is the 3x price of a NIB FN P35.

All my magazines cross over for my HPs.

I kind of want one to go with my 2 FN's. But... I want to handle one in person vs buying it online.

One big advantage of the Girsan over the SA is that Girsan has the FPS the Mk.III came with; the best designed FPS in a SA design, IMHO, and worth it in a SA pistol with only a thumb safety.

Thank you for the information. I guess I should have just looked at the site but sometimes I just forget to lol.
The real information here is, you got to handle one and you liked what you saw, thank you...

You're good, asking questions encourages conversation. I didn't mean my response like that.

They're solid for a $500 hi power.

Not the base model but their MC P35 Match Ops is a nice upgraded modernized version of the classic Hi Power.
