Here's a whacky resume:

BA Humanistic Studies, Guilford Colege

MA History and Philosophy of Science, Indiana University ( special interest: Renaissance Alchemy - my bar-tending degree).

MA Applied Linguistics, Indiana University ( special interest: Language Acquisition/TOEFL - my "Indiana Jones" degree, which got me to Yemen and Mogadishu).

MS Computer Science, UNC - Chapel Hill (my "get a job degree" - boring passport, but the benefits are good, and no one's shooting at/near me).

I think that I am done with formal education. Until I retire. :)

Mike

Formal:

BS in English Literature
BS in Philosophy and Religion
BS in Biology
MA in Public Relations

Professional:

Chartered Market Technician professional designation
Series 7 Brokerage License
Series 8 Principal's License
Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor

A decade and a half's acummulation of worthless Continuing Education credits in my field. (Basically teaches you how to BE a money launderer.)

I stayed in college WAY too long. When I finally applied for a degree, my advisor pointed out that I could get 3 Bachelor's, so why not? After a brief bout with burn-out and a market downturn, I decided to go back and get the Masters.

Well one thing seems clear. The view that many "Elites" have of gun owners as uneducated hicks is wrong. Of course if you are actually a shooter you understand this. In my IDPA club everyone who isn't presently or ex LEO or military are business owners, engineers, business managers or doctors.

It does not matter anyway. Degrees in of themselves are meaningless. You could have a Masters from say Harvard and be President of the United States and the leftists will still paint you as uneducated and stupid.

I got out of HS early with the California high school proficiency exam. Went to work in construction soon after making good money. Now I'm an operating engineer and Foreman for a large construction company making even better money. Got my GED a couple years after getting out of school.

I married money.

I married debt. ;)

AS Business
1 more year until BA in Crim. Justice
Then it's Master's time for Hanky

Dropped out of Engineering College after one year (man, it's harder than my guidance counselor made it sound)

No Credentials

No degrees, no credentials, no title.

  • Survived high school (1967).
  • USAF technical schools, basic and radio electronics.
  • Ten years of volunteer work, with ad hoc on-the-job training in rehab, education, business management, clerical, finance, personal enhancement, seamanship, communications, and business statistics.
  • Self-taught computer programming (1981) and twenty-five subsequent years of self-taught languages and databases.
  • Somewhere in there (1985-1994) I managed to teach five years of college level computer programming.

Everything on my resume has been learned on the job.

So, I guess that makes me an uneducated computer bum, with a hobby that pays better than average wages.

I guess there are worse things.

Bachelor's in Biology; MS in Library Science, MS 'information systems' (which is Drexel's code for databases, web stuff, and IS management).

The two masters degrees secured my job; the Bio degree has been essentially meaningless.

Resume:

Bachelor degree with a double major in Business Management and Aviation.

After a few years in a boring white-collar career, I became a ghetto cop... Been doing this ever since! :)

But in my day I've taken shrapnel, been stabbed, and have been ran over by a vehichle as well.
Yep -- I've broken my left leg twice (in parachute jumps), my collar bone and associated ribs, etc., twice (got an APC shot out from under me, then ran over an anti-tank mine just as the first break was mending), broke my rotator cuff (ladder slipped while I was painting the house) and broke my back (horse bolted and slammed me into a tree.)

I am an educated man!:p

I'm a dumb elementary school dropout redneck. And you are damn lucky to have me participating in this unofficial poll, since neither this site nor this thread have anything to with NASCAR or Miller Lite. I still can't figure out how I ended up posting here, but you are unlikely to get another one of my brethren. Good luck with your hypothesis testing.

Bachelor's in Management; Master's in Global, Thermonuclear Warfare:what: -- for whatever good that does me!

--and then there's all that minor stuff picked up along the way: Marine Dad, 1 Each; survivor of floods, fires, blizzards and hurricanes, private pilot, NRA rifle & pistol instructor, artillery range safety officer (Neat trick for a ChAir Force puke!), small arms range safety officer, USAREUR Hunting Instructor, Jadgschein, "5-level" electronic warfare systems repair, Ohio armed security officer, light aircraft mechanic, too much automotive repair for my own good.

RATS! "It ain't the years, it's the mileage!";)

Highschool grad.

Picked up EMT certification in the Army. Which didn't do me any good when I moved to Florida back in 1996. Have been a electrician for almost 8 years now, working on custom luxury motorcoaches and fire trucks.

I have an AS in IT and AAS in Network (Cisco CCNA)

AAS in computer help desk.

Next is a BA in IT.

I have to have at least a BA so I get paid more to support my gun addiction.

BS Electrical Engineering
US Navy nuclear power program (submarine officer)
MS and PhD in Nuclear Engineering (after the Navy)

My preferred kicking-around attire certainly doesn't look very highbrow or particularly educated, baggy camo cargo shorts (not for camouflaging me but for camouflaging DIRT!) for ease of CCW, t-shirt and a ballcap. Most of my out of work social interaction is with people at the range/club. At least there you really do have to be careful about judging a book by it's cover, I've met all types there. All good people just some look a little rougher around the edges but everyone I've met so far has been good people.

went thru elementary school
went thru junior high
barely survived high school

went to college, did 3 years of party

went to the army electronic technician, survived Iraq twice, still in the army going thru a medical board now
and after that, who knows? But I'll be around shooting and kicking it. lol lol
