EK98 Mauser??

Anyone know what an EK 98 Mauser is? 8mm similar to the K98??

EK isn't a German Ordnance code I'm aware of. Can you post a pic of the mark?

If it's a VK98, that'd be a Volksturmkarabiner, a late war last-ditch K98, very collectable. EK, no such animal.

Alas, a question on a LGS owner's behalf. The person who contacted him suggested a $1500 value. Less sniper rifles is anything 98'ish commanding anywhere it that league?

Very low end of market for a true VK-98, midrange for a completely matching K98k. Really stabbing in the dark here, but probably a VK being lowballed.
