I think we need our own version of "The Armed Citizen" here. Just a stickied post that contains nothing but news stories or links to news stories (preferably story with link in case link dies, but link is needed for confirmation). I'm talking about stories of people who have prevented massacres like the one that almost occured at the University of Virginia, or the one that almost occurred in a restaraunt in Edinboro, PA--I googled these and had a hell of a time finding either. The reason I mention it is that these stories tend to get buried or forgotten shortly after being reported, and we find ourselves struggling for a defense of our 2nd Ammendment in the aftermath of shootings like the one occuring at Virginia Tech. So, I'll kick it off with this:
1. This could have been as bad as Virginia Tech, but wasn't due to 2 armed students. The news articles I found failed to mention the students were armed. Wikipedia was the closest thing to an 'official' source I could find that would confirm it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appalachian_School_of_Law_shooting
2. This started in a restaraunt, but was abruptly halted by the owner. Were it not for a shotgun toting restaurant owner, this might have been a lot worse:

Any time you want information on this, go to

http://www.nraila.org/ArmedCitizen/Default.aspx

There's a search function there, and you can either direct your querents to that site or print out particularly relevant ones for their convenience.

I'm not sure a sticky would do much good beyond the shoulders of TheHighRoad.

The real trick is to keep this kind of thing in the eye of the general public. A clever letter writer can wangle the angle of these stories to reflect our position on matters 2A. Example: "At a time when our Legislature is trying to... a recent event indicates that the mere presence of a firearm has prevented..." and the like. Select and tailor your clauses as appropriate.

I note with only slight amusement that the "header" incident that is reported in the latest The American Rifleman* was also reported on this site, I believe as a "What would you do..." thread.

So perhaps re-reporting them as letters to the editor or links on blogs and the like might be more appropriate.

Not being negative, just trying to redirect the positive energy of this idea in a (perhaps) more effective direction.

"Preaching to the choir," and all that, and the resource which you propose is already extant.
