Engine block question

Tracers not intended for torching things.
They for showin you , sorta, where your rounds are goin re the target.

But....they do sometimes light off unintended things. Like the brush beyond the backstop etc. Use em with extreme caution.

When my gunsmith was test-firing my .416 Rigby, he decided to have a little fun... He happened to have some of Ross Seyfried's old handloads on hand, which were 400 grain Barnes Super Solids at around 2700 fps. He shot it at the block of an old tractor, and literally cracked a big chunk out of the block.

Later, the same rifle, with a 410 grain Woodleigh solid at 2350 fps, penetrated 1/4" of diamond-plate steel, entered AND exited *two* fluid-filled tractor tires, went through another 1/4" of diamond-plate steel, and kept on going....

That thing can PENETRATE!
