Happy new year to all!
I've been looking at getting a Walker for some time now and I'm curious if any of the manufacture's offer a plain cylinder. All the Uberti's & Pietta’s I've seen so far all come with the engraved cylinder. Can I find one with a plain, unfluted cylinder or would I need to buy a separate cylinder all together? thanks guys.

Pietta does not and has never made a Walker replica. Uberti is the only manufacturer currently making Walkers, and they do not offer a plain cylinder. I don't believe you can purchase a plain replacement cylinder either. Your only option is to refinish a blued, engraved cylinder.

I guess I found my solution is with a Cimarron Walker, they offer a plain cylinder - any input on Cimarron and their Walkers?

Not so. The original Walkers had plain, unblued cylinders.

I see that Cimarron does indeed offer an 'original finish' Walker with a plain, unblued cylinder. The website listing does not specify a part or catalog number, nor is it priced, so I wonder how one orders that particular gun.

Cimarron percussion revolvers are made by Uberti, so they are well known regarding their quality. I'll be interested to see if you can actually obtain that particular gun. Please let us know how you do.

AFTERMARKET. BUT conversion. I have a R&D cylinder that is not engraved. But blued. of course if you wanted to a soak in vinegar would remove the bluing then you just polish the cylinder

"Plain, unblued" doesn't mean unengraved. It means that the cylinders were left "in the white" and unblued. All of the examples of original Walkers I've seen have at least a trace of roll engraving. Get the unengraved cylinder if you want to, but it won't be authentic. Here are some examples of original Walkers to look at:

I am not aware of any original that did not have the WL Ormsby roll engraving, plus the original cylinders were in the white.

That DGW kit would make a nice looking gun, no CCH or engraving, really different.

I can find no sutler who currently carries Palmetto products. And yes, ASM USED TO make a Walker, but they're out of business for several years now.
